Blackwater employees get 10,000 dollars a mos. Our soldiers are mad.?

I would be mad too! The men and women in the military risk thier lives everyday for our so called freedom, and the government does not give them the pay or the benefits they deserve. Our troops deserve alot more then what our government gives to them.

This might make some people angry but your average servicemen are not nearly as skilled in tactical operations as employees of blackwater and similar "comanies". The regular miltary just is not capable of what these guys are. Trust me they have earned this type of paycheck. That being said I think it's crap that we are even hiring these companies instead of using that money to improve training and raise combat zone, hazard and hostile fire pay. Because every service member over there has earned a huge paycheck and benefits far beyond than what they will ever get. Of course none of our guys belong there in the first place....

LOL my nephew did a tour in Iraq in Marine Corps, He was discharged early for the connivance of the government and went back on a fifteen month contract with Blackwater. He made as much in the first four months as he made on active duty with the Marines? He finished his contract and came home with $135,000 in the bank after taxes. He got shot at once as a Marine and once with Blackwater. WFT is our government doing? No Elected Official should make a dime more than the lowest ranking soldier in combat.

i spent 10 yrs in the ''navy''..a vietnam vet and a proud american..i do not like the system and i am pretty sure a lot of servicemen dont either...yes..i volunteered..to fight for my country and for freedom...the money we get is just an inscentive along with a few other perks...if any body deserves them its the military men and women...i wonder what kind of country we would have without a military...

They get paid that much because they work for a private company. The government awarded contracts to Blackwater and pay them a lot of money for their services. Most Blackwater personnel were in the Military as special forces operators at one point in their lives.

Baloney chigga, look at the qualifications to become a Blackwater operative. They require you have special forces experience. In fact the CEO of Blackwater was a Navy SEAL. Don't talk unless you know what you are talking about.

I'm not mad. Those guys busted their *** and did some tough stuff when they were military. Do YOU want to go ride convoy for dignitaries in Iraq in a suburban?

Let's all be honest...Mercenaries (oh...I am sorry..."private security firms") get paid alot of money from out government. I think it is truly sad we are paying mercs to fight for our country. Mercs loyalty is only to the those who are paying them.

ummmmmmmm...damn it i can't tell hubby to get out of the army...he just reenlisted for 6 more years and not getting paid $10,000 a mos...that's so unfair and completely typical military contractor...ugh!

Why are they upset? I thought the U.S. Army was an all volunteer army...isn't that what the Bush preaches? They should by principle, get nothing. If one is in the army, it is to serve your country, not to get paid.

Edit: Few very few Blackwater employees were every in special forces, or even the 82nd Airborne (One of the finest units in the world)
