I hear everyone saying that we have to fight the terrorists but who are they talking about? GHosts? Iraqi's who want their country back? Taliban? Al Qaida? WHo are those folks? Why are we having to fight them? How can we win? How will we know when we have won if we don't even know who or why we are fighting?

I've just read a book and it says that the US dropped an atomic bomb and killed 150,000 Chinese soldiers and in retaliation two Soviet bombers flew from Vladivostok and obliterated inchon and pusan. I've asked several people about this and they all say no. Could it be possible that this book is lying to me?

I'm not planning to go, but it's just a crazy question. I have no intention of going to that hellhole, but if I WANTED to, how would I do it, and would I get let in? I do kind of look like the natives, but I don't speak a lick of Arabic.

Would I be horrified at what I saw?

I am not a policeman so I was wondering. I recall a cop show from the 1970s or 80s where the officer explained that the term ***** was used to avoid confusion with black (for example black hair, black car, black pants, etc.). No, I do not say "*****."

Would it be"alpha alpha alpha"? "alpha times three"? "alpha, another alpha, another alpha?" I am not a police officer but was wondering what the proper phrasing would be. Thanks.

I still haven't seen the Muslim community come out in groves to publicly condem their extream leaders yet.

I have a teacher. She is a young lady with a husband overseas. When she told us this at the beginning of the school year my thought was "That sucks, he shouldn't be there." but as the days passed on, this sympathetic emotion slowly faded into the background of other forgotten issues like Darfur, Poverty, & Global Warming that I had thought I cared about.

One day I started to think about the morality of wars and her comment had sprung back to life again. As I reflected on the past month of school, I realized that she always has great enthusiasm and energy when teaching. You'd almost think that her level of security is that of a small child. I was troubled. How on earth can she get up each morning with such an attitude knowing that her Husband may not return home? This possibility saddens greatly me. However, within it grew a deep respect for her and the amazing courage she posses. She inspires me. It taught me to appreciate the job that both of them do a lot more. Thank you all.

BAGHDAD - The number of American troops and Iraqi civilians killed in the war fell in September to levels not seen in more than a year. The U.S. military said the lower count was at least partly a result of new strategies and 30,000 additional U.S. forces deployed this year.

Although it is difficult to draw conclusions from a single month's tally, the figures could suggest U.S.-led forces are making headway against extremist factions and disrupting their ability to strike back.
