Everyone does it and no one ever says anything about it, but are we supposed to?

"Why is this so hard for you to understand?" All of the years of debating are going to end like this, Mike?

It may not be the courteous thing to do but, if no one threw their trash on the floor a ltot of movie attendants would be out of a job. Go ahead and do it. It keeps those guys employeed.

I lived in Korea--a messy place--but no one left their food on the floor in the movies like they do in the US. I also lived in Germany a long time ago--back then, the movies theater was almost like a dinner theater. You got a little table where you could have a glass of wine or a beer--nobody put their stuff on the floor or else!!!! Verboten!! I don't know how it is now--that was 20 years ago. I guess Americans are slobs when it comes to movies--but then I very rarely watch American movies.

I never do it. That's a pretty ignorant thing to do. People don't go to restaurants and throw napkins and uneaten food under the table. Bottom line- someone's got to clean it up sometime, so why make thier job that much more unpleasant?

Supposed to? No. But they do sweep the theaters between showings. Just think of the level of respect someone must have to leave their crap on the floor like that.

Who cares if it's legal or not, the idea that people don't care that much is more appalling to me.

Most movie houses have special equipment that gets all the trash on the floor down to the front row. Then they have a big hose vacuum that sucks it up.

of course you are NOT supposed to. How would you like to be the guy that has to crawl around under the seats after the picture and clean up everybody's mess when it would be just as easy to hold your trash and dispose of it in proper bins in the lobby when the picture ends? Why is this so hard for you to understand?

lol...ofcourse your not spose to, but it's not illegal in Australia. That's what they have cleaners for, for all thoose litter bugs out there. But just think, if they miss a bit of your rubbish then really your not doing your part in the world hay? Anyway there's heaps of things were not suppose to....were not suppose to drink heavily, smoke, pollute, swear...there's alot of things we shouldn't do but everyone would have atleast one bad habbit

lol morally no, we shouldn't because it sucks for the janitor who has to clean it up! but as for the law, its legal because your in there and you paid to get into that theatre. I think it should be fine, go ahead and pollute in front of a cop, doubt they'd do anything.

It is sloppy but not illegal. If it was illegal there would at least be a sign that says not to drop your popcorn and candy wrappers. At the price they charged for candy and snacks the movie theaters don't want to discourage any purchasers.

What does it matter when it all just gets dumped somewhere else out of sight anyway? Its a good reminder for all the crap we create when we are having fun.
