Jena 6
Enough is Enough...Un-Equal Justice is just not acceptable! Remember the Duke 3.Wear Black on September 20th to show your support! for Jena 6. What would be different about the case if the Jena 6 were white?
45% - There would be no punishment and no trial
53% - The fight would have been handled by school administrators
0% - The situation would be exactly the same
2% - It's not about race, it's about discipline

I just heard that 90 out of 100 letters that people sent to congress were againts the DREAM act. Don't let Senators get the idea (again) that they only hear from anti-immigrant constituents, and that they should play it safe and vote against the amendment.Start making calls or sending emails.

to send Email:

to call your senators:

Support higher education and the DREAM act!!!

I belive the people of the past and those in lands far away in terrible conditions have view towards life. The hardship they suffered. Forced Immigration, Famine, World Wars, the Depression, threats of Nucular war. Seems to have created good people. People to look up to. Kids today have it so easy. Being a teenage myself I know it. They don't appreciate because they haven't had to struggle or fight to make a better life. I look at the life my father gave to me and I honestly think I'm not taking full advantage of my situation. When he says you can be anything we want to be, I just didn't belive it then but now I do.

The dream act requires that applications for it's amnesty must be expedited, bars DHS from charging fees for expedited service, and fails to provide the additional personnel and equipment needed to handle expedited applications. Because million of people will file applications for Dream Act Amnesty (regardless of whether or not they eventually quality) DHS will experience a significant backlog of cases that will necessarily slow DHS abiltiy to process conventional business and family visas, and applicatons for naturalization of intending the legal immigrants to the USA

I so often read complaints about someone hating America...someone who I certainly know loves this country and enough to wanna work to make it better. But, clearly some people think that because of their opinion, they hate it. So wonder what America are we talking about? The America the neo-cons want I might hate. I think the America that cons in general want would be difficult for me to live with. I'm pretty sure the America libs want would be hard for cons to live with. So when someone says someone else hates America, I think we're talking about different Americas, two different aspirations or perceptions of what America should/could be. You wanna paint this room what color? are you insane?

A general contractor is hired by a principal to erect an large art exhibit.

The gen'l contr. hires subcontractors to build the exhibit and acquire rented and loaned items.

The gen'l contractor is paid an override from the principal on what is charged by the subcontr. to do the work.

The principal paid the gen'l cont. and then the gen'l paid the subcont..

The principal then decides to extend the display period beyond what was originally contracted for with the gen'l, but does so w/out going through the gen'l.

The principal goes DIRECTLY to the subcont. doing an "end run" around the gen'l. contr.

If the gen'l would have known the display period would have included this additional time, the original cost to the principal would have been greater thus allowing the gen'l a larger fee.

Does the gen'l have a cause of action against the principal for the lost fee?

Is there case law to support the gen'l's claim?

In the first place white racists are taught from childhood to be racists by their parents. This is passed on from generation to generation.Bringing up the racist card is not about to change them . Therefore it would be a waste of time to use this argument..

If you think pre-emptive war is a good idea, think about it again as if you and your family were peaceable citizens of the country that is about to be attacked, not as a citizen of the attacking country. Also, if the U.S. were not a world military power, would we be planning to pre-emptively attack other countries? If not, does that mean that we believe that Might Makes Right?

(Before you attack me as a liberal for this question, know that I am a retired family man, ex-military-Vietnam era, Republican, Conservative, business owner and tax-payer, so please keep your response to the question at hand).

Being that the limited funds from financial aid go to the most needy of students and many of the illigals under report or are paid under the table they would dry up the limited pool of funds

Further, because the repeal of the 1996 law that said that illegal aliens can not get in-state tutition is retroactive, illegal aliens who formerly paid out-of-state tuition will have the abiltiy and motivation to sue for the difference between what they paid and the in-state rate

Before you answer, consider two points:

1) For obvious reasons, it is impossible to punish someone who commits suicide. The closest we can come is to punish someone who tries to commit suicide and fails.

2) In a society based on individual rights, where we assume that people have the right to determine HOW they live... do we contradict ourselves if we say those same people don't have the right to determine WHETHER they live?
