I so often read complaints about someone hating America...someone who I certainly know loves this country and enough to wanna work to make it better. But, clearly some people think that because of their opinion, they hate it. So wonder what America are we talking about? The America the neo-cons want I might hate. I think the America that cons in general want would be difficult for me to live with. I'm pretty sure the America libs want would be hard for cons to live with. So when someone says someone else hates America, I think we're talking about different Americas, two different aspirations or perceptions of what America should/could be. You wanna paint this room what color? are you insane?

There's a huge difference between hating the country -- and hating certain ACTIONS taken by the GOVT of the country.

There's a huge difference between hating the ideals of the country as set forth in the Constitution -- and hating the way certain groups or individuals betray or exploit those ideals.

The short answer... The constitution does not allow either (todays libs/cons) to distribute or re-distribute wealth from one to another.

Lib's take money from wherever and give it to... let's say the poor (for gross oversimplification).

Con's take money from wherever and give it to... let's say the corporations (also for gross oversimplification).

The long answer- THE TRUTH-
Today 'wealth' is money printed out of thin air, he who prints it is the wealthy one.

In the past it was the citizen who created wealth- by hard work, creativity and enginuity. That wealth, for the most part stayed with the citizen who earned it. Uniform or representative tax collected from the states (via the citizens) the funds to conduct it limited business of government.

That, my friends is gone, thanks to the fiat money system and the socialist regimes that have insidiously taken over our precious constitution. Now the Fed's PRINT the money (creating the wealth) and send it back down to the people or corporations via entitlements.

We are no longer an industrialized nation! We are but a financial ghost ship and a militarized-industrial complex.

America SHOULD BE what the constitution lays out for limited government (there to SERVE the people) with limited power (to PROTECT the people). But the people have to believe in themselves again, stop the b.s.'ing and wake up to regain their sovereignty.

The beauty part... the constitution bridges both lib's and con's but it's only effective when the PEOPLE are independant, creative, hard working and morally strong, self-reliant and responsible.

Most of the anti-Americanism specially from foreign nationals, is out of ignorance and pure bigotry. They only see what they want to see and not the truth before them.

From reading your question, I agree with you, I have a big hope that one day we'll be great again, we'll find a way for cons and libs to live together and mix our approaches to make something that is middle of the road, able to accomodate everything from the tips of the spectrum to the gray areas in the middle.

I know that whole speech sounds all fuzzy feel good, but its doable.

All I want from anyone - neighbor, government, whatever - is to leave me alone and let me live a nice, quiet life.

I've actually been told that my feelings make me a staunch conservative. I say they make me sane - who the hell wants *anyone* looking over their shoulder all the time?!?

But I *do* agree that everyone gets "their" own idea of America. That's why I try very hard not to judge people who choose to live in a city - I don't know anything about it, and certainly wouldn't presume to tell them how to live. I just wish they'd show me the same respect.

I would agree that cons have an Agenda and America is not one of them!

Liberals agenda IS America and that is why neocons have such a fit.

The neocons were in control of Congress for 12 years and have an abysmal record. Their Fascist's president is even worse. Now we have Black water, a mercenary army paid for by George Bush out of his no-strings money demands!!

I know what neocons are talking about when the say Liberals hate America. Pure Garbage and absolutely untruths. I think they should look in the mirror!

Liberals are not haters, with two exceptions, Bush and what he and the neocons have done to this country. Neocons hate EVERYONE who isn't just like them!

I am far from insane!

I love the America that follows the constitution as written not those that pick and choose which parts they like on any given day and use those and ignore the parts that don't server their purpose. I love the America that belongs to the people not the elite who feel it's their right to rule. Nor the sycophants who act as minions, to the elite. the secret government hates America and everything it stands for except profits.

The Founders created a great country. Which side is it that hates the country the Founders created? That is right the Liberals.
They love the country that Castro created and hate the one that Jefferson, Madison, and the other great men created. They want to convert it into another Cuba so they can love it. I say that if they love Castro and Cuba that they should go there and harvest sugar cane. It would be so wonderful and free medical care as well. Utopia to be sure.

I would say any fellow American that would deny another American health care because they are not the type to get jobs that offer health care or work low paying jobs. I would say people like that hate America and Americans that are not to there standard.

The room has already been painted, and the politicians have taken away my paintbrush. I love the ideals that America was founded on, but they are pretty much dead.
