The dream act requires that applications for it's amnesty must be expedited, bars DHS from charging fees for expedited service, and fails to provide the additional personnel and equipment needed to handle expedited applications. Because million of people will file applications for Dream Act Amnesty (regardless of whether or not they eventually quality) DHS will experience a significant backlog of cases that will necessarily slow DHS abiltiy to process conventional business and family visas, and applicatons for naturalization of intending the legal immigrants to the USA

Well said Jaz! People here do not understand that a lot of the illegal immigrants in this country come here to better their lives. They do not have a choice the system is screwed up, people have to wait at least thirteen years to get residency. Or they can get married which isn't very easy because it's a very long process. People need to understand that these illegal immigrants are people also they are not savages!! They come here and do all of the jobs that most Americans do not want to do. I do not understand where all the hate comes from; they're human beings! As to the Dream Act it was denied in October of 2007 but hopefully it will be revived in 2009 or the next president will fix the system. I believe that the Dream Act was a great bill because not anyone could qualify; there were a lot of requirements. People that met the requirements would get TEMPORARY residency for 5 to 6 years and then they could apply for permanent residency. It's just sad that it could not be passed because it was the last resort for a lot of people.

Yes, which is one of the reason this act must not pass. It is unfair to all of the others who start the process in the proper manner.
