I just heard that 90 out of 100 letters that people sent to congress were againts the DREAM act. Don't let Senators get the idea (again) that they only hear from anti-immigrant constituents, and that they should play it safe and vote against the amendment.Start making calls or sending emails.

Thank you for the information. I hate to see competent brains go to waster. There are so few of them in this world. I know too many "gifted" kids that are going to waste because they are undocumented. I have a boy in my community that came here at 13, and, opted out of ELL classes at 15. He graduated (valedictorian) with a 4.0 with 2 white kids here. He is VERY talented, but, illegal. He wants to study medicine, but, is waiting tables right now. He deserves to be educated, and, we deserve to benefit from his brain. He could be the one to cure cancer- or AIDS. It is ridiculous that he can't study when he COULD be a HUGE asset to our country and the world. I will email, call, and, harass. LOL. Thank you.

The Dream Act woudl provide a path to legality for person brought illegally to the United States. This law has been in since 1996 and nothing has been done. And in 1006 til now they or now still not doing a thing to stop them for the money is in oil and labor is cheaper to let them cross the border and work the fields and sell illegally green cards to their workers if they have a way to get them, never be surpurise to get a letter in the mail about your # I did.
No I do not believe in giving out free to them for there is to many Americans that need help but I think we could use old school houses, or motels to make a place like Ellis Island to put up the immigrants until they can become citizens and give them a place to work and help buy their food and clothes. Also I do know that we also could use them to plant our food in fields, to grow and for pay give them food with pay. This will keep the cost down and were we give them a place to live let them learn to keep it up to be pround of it until they or legall. But the Congress and Senate have it in their hands..

LOL....why should we support higher education when they NEED them to pick fruit? Mow lawns, and do all the jobs Americans won't do? Just never enough is it?

How about pay yourself instead of sending BILLIONS back to your home country? Obviously alot are raking in some pretty hefty tax free funds and could afford to pay the way. Why does the American tax payer always have to foot the bill when our own citizens don't get it? We have alot of our own citizens who need the help. I mean we had legal immigrants in the past work through generations to get to where someone in their family got the chance to go to college and you guys are expecting it all handed to you and your not legal and way too many can't or won't bother to speak English. Just about every student that has expressed a desire for the education wants it so they can go and help "their" people. Ya want my money, my jobs and the benefits are for just "your" people. Tell me where this benefits the American citizen? So far I'm not seeing any benefit to ANY of the funds given to illegals. Forget it......the Dream act is nothing but a nightmare.

I do not support illegal immigration of any form or fancy. I do not appreciate being invaded from the north south east or west while my federal government sits by and does not enforce the immigration laws already in place. Why pass additional laws? Why would anyone think the feds would enforce new ones? Get a grip on reality, illegal immigration is partially the cause of the fall of ancient Rome. The same is happening all over again to the American empire.

No. Waaaaaay NO. My son, who was born in this country and just moved to a different state to go to college is expected to pay out of state tuition because he isn't a resident of more than a year. If this so called Dream Act would address the Nightmares of legal, American citizens... maybe I'd encourage the misguided representatives in my state to support it, but since the Senators are not paying attention to the needs of the constituents that voted them into public service.... I will flood their faxes, emails and phone lines with the repeated message of "NO" and the tame marketing name they're trying to push is of no avail. This is not a Dream. It's a NIGHTMARE.

All benefits of the US government should be for citizens only.

All procedures for becoming US citizens should start outside the US.

What kind of idiot thinks this is a good use of the tax dollars paid by a truckdriver who can't afford to pay for college for his own kids?

I am totally against the amendment to the Defense appropriation. I am against amnesty for illegals. Anyone who thinks this amnesty amendment is a good idea has to be dreaming.
I have already notified my senators I want them to vote against this amendment. It violates Senate rules in that it has nothing to do with Defense spending.
Americans already made their feelings known, earlier this year, that we are against amnesty for illegals.
