no matter how you twist it the bottom line is if there was no existance of guns 90% of the things that happened wouldnt happen

there'd be no robberies of any sort except maybe break ins when no bodys home

there would be like a 95% cut back on wars

think about it what was the person who invented guns thinking when he created it "ill create a weapon to use againts the people who dont have one" yes there are still other weapons but none more effective and easy to get than a gun

hell i never saw a person walking around with a missile launcher on his back thats for damn sure

Now that it looks like the US military, of some size, will stay in Iraq permanently to fight the war on terror & more importantly to make sure that Iraq's civil war doesn't spill into the entire Mideast isn't Iraq starting to look a lot like Israel's West Bank? Another Mideast conflict, that has been raging for 40+ years, with no end in sight and no solutions to stop it?

So now on top of a disasterous Israeli-Palestianian conflict that will never end (& has been the root cause of the majority of all of Americas problems in the Mideast) we're going to have a disasterous US-Iraq conflict that will never end. What a great future Bush has created for the world?

I have just visited my friend who has told me that one of her family members has touched her daughters in a unappropriate way. She states that the daughters aged 11 and 17 were interviewed by the police (woman) without anyone there to support the child
I thought a adult had to be there to support, comfort and witness the interview

I am told by the British High Commission here that I needed to show evidence that he was a British subject after independence of my country.

I don't have that evidence and am asking anyone who can help, to help me through contacts in the Home Service in the UK to search for his name and advise if he retained British Subject status after Independence.
For privacy reasons I will respond to anyone who would like to email me privately and are serious in helpng me out.

I have a photocopy of the first four crucial pages of his passport which shows the passport number and the renewal number. He got it in 1945.

I have been told by the Consular department here of the Britsh High Commission that having his pre-independence passport does not give me any rights but that IMUST prove that he was still and did maintain a Britsh Passport after Indpendence.

So if anyone can give me an email for a person who I can request directly / or request my private email address.

I just moved to Texas better jobs than in Seattle. I have to pay 8 tolls a day just for work and more for personal trips, I buy a house but taxes are crazy high 3 times what they are in other places easily and usually you get tax assessed at least 100K more than the real worth by far which means 200 or 300 more a month in taxes. Fees for police tickets just raised $100 across the board and the police have a reputation for abusive behavior I hear. Other states charge less and offer the same services and roadways etc...

So there is some background, here is my question again.
What am I paying for, why do I need to pay the state government $1000 a month if I want a house, or even a couple hundred if I want to rent. Where is all this money going??? I wish the comproller would answer, I would like to know if she feels she is a crook?

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2007-09-11-giuliani-911_N.htm

EXCERPT FROM ARTICLE:
A slim majority of Americans say the Sept. 11 attacks six years ago make former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani qualified to handle terrorist threats against the nation, according to a new USA TODAY/Gallup Poll.
Giuliani has made his experience during and after the 9/11 attacks the centerpiece of his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination.

That experience, he argues, has made him best prepared of all the candidates in either party to deal with terrorist threats facing the nation.

**This article is a day old, but a small majority of Americans think that Rudy could handle terrorism because of his deeds after 9/11. I am not a basher, but what EXACTLY did he do besides walk around and say soothing words?

On one hand it has its obvious benefits. People from minority groups who otherwise may not have had the opportunity to get into certain schools ect. can get a great education and become productive in society, adding to their social status. All of which is a good thing.

On the other hand, you get people who abuse the system. You get privledged and rich minorities who get scholarships and preferential entrance based on the fact that they are minorities and based on the fact that they are disadvantaged.

I've always thought that it would be better to means test these things rather than automatically assume someone is disadvantaged because they are a minority.

What do you think?
