and liberals are "free thinkers" when they repeat what Olbermann says?

I watched Countdown for an entire show and stayed on YA politics while he was on. In that hour there were 28 questions directly from Olbermann's mouth. How does that make these people "free thinkers"?

That's just another example of liberal hypocrisy. Nothing new, they all do it.

It runs on both sides. There is just this feeling that if a conservative says somthing he is repeating fox news propaganda. While a dem is free thinker, even though about 5 times on Y/A I saw people say "General Betrayus" directly quoting MoveOn.orgs ad in the new york times. People on both sides quote their pundits, but only the conservatives are given grief over it.

There are some wacky cons out there, just as there are wacky dems.

I'm very liberal - Green Party - but I think this is a really good question.
I don't consider conservatives blind followers, just as I don't consider myself a blind follower of Olberman, who I LOVE.

The role of the press in this country is, by necessity, to inform a populace who has to work 8 hours or more a day, and raise a family, and does not have time to do its own investigative journalism. Therefore, we RELY on the press to tell us the truth.

I think the basic question then, if we want to narrow it down to , say, O'Reilly vs. Olberman, is, "who is telling the truth?". I won't try to answer this, since I know we will disagree. But the original question is fair: most of us are followers by necessity.

I am republican and I don't follow anyone blindly. I KNOW that today's news is slanted by opinion and that the reporting of facts has been replaced by commentary. Compare the news of Huntley, Brinkley, Conkrite of yesteryear and you will come to the same conclusion. Yellow Journalism is running rampant on ALL news stations and it needs to be stopped. The way we do this is too disregard it as News and call it what it is, an op/ed piece. I use a variety of sources to form my opinion and would hope all Americans do the same. The more informed we are as a nation, the more likely we are in making the right decisions as a nation.

Free thinkers are those who research everything including the history of that country and maybe consider the WHYS.

Foxnews and every other major news stations don't give all the facts.

Just because someone does not agree with a republicans makes them a liberal. Some don't agree with either side.

We know Fox News is not a credible source.
At times its just a shade left of the Volkische Beobachter of the good old days.
Only a blind follower, ( and a juvenile at that ), is such a true believer to take in and uncritically parrot back anything from the " We Report You Decide" network. However I never watch Olberman and am not a sheeple, bleating back what he says. Do you admit you repeat things from Fox News? Is this the source of your opinions too? Just wondering.

Anyone who repeats anything from another source without checking the source themselves is ignorant or a blind follower.
The so-called mainstream media is the most guilty of all.

I watch both. From what I read on here, Liberals shun FOX. They love to call it Faux News.

In the 60's liberals credited themselves as being free thinkers, now ,because i don't follow their far left agendas i'm considered a follower. give me a break! I don't watch Fox news because I follow them,I watch Fox news because they agree with me. Fair and Balanced, the way it should be.

I watch Fox news for it's pure comedic entertainment value. Fox news does have Democrats and liberals as guest. The only problem is that are seldom allowed to complete a sentence. I often wonder why they even bother to go on the network.

If you corner the people against Fox News and make them answer, most will admit they have never even watched Fox. Bashing Fox is just something that their talking points tell them to do.
I watch all news and compare, then do my own research and make up my own mind. In reality Fox is really the most fair and balanced with a democrat or liberal for every republican or conservative they have on air.
