I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth, more like a plastic spork and I'm not the son of a millinonare, more like the son of minimum wage.
Unlike the uninformed I've been sent to war, so it was me son!
But I believe the end of the Iraq war is on the horizon, if we stay united as a country, determined we can reach it.
I believe strongly that the only thing that can destroy America is the indifference of Americans.

Yes, my Dad is rich and well connected politically. Also, I'm the ONLY son, so I guess you can term me as "fortunate."
But I've no wild nighmares of going into Iraq- despite being just across the border of my country. I've already served my conscription so there's slim chance of me wearing the fatigues again, specially for active combat.
Cheers !!!

You're obviously referring to the John Fogerty song, but the circumstances today are very different from those during Vietnam. There will not be a military draft. By the way, the word is spelled "politically".

lol you poor kid there will never be another draft. even as we have people getting out they are still inactive ready reserve for at least 6 years after they get out. yes we have called people back. only the army hasn't met its goals for people joining.unless there is another world war there will not be a draft there isn't no president that would want to be the one that says yes to that.also in these days there would be people that all they would have to say is I'm a continuous objector at that alone stops the whole process of being drafted . so as lond as you dont wanna you dont have to

My Dad makes more than enough that I always had the choice to go into the military. In fact, the standard social dynamic of the military is equal in familial income background to the rest of society. Implying we're all the poor people who had no choices of what to do with our lives is offensive

This is not a military question. It's a political statement. Stay in the politics section and there will never be another draft so you can rest well little one.
