Seriously, I don't get it. Whether Romney, Gulliani, or Tancredo gets voted as the primary candidate they're not going win. The people want out of Iraq, they want socialized medicine, and they want to be able to trust their government again, all things that the republicans don't want. The polls show it, the news shows it, the overall feeling in America shows it, we want a Democrat in office. This was most evident in the Democratic sweep in 06. So honestly why do republicans think they even have a fighting chance of winning? Seriously why?

Because that is what the spreadsheet I have from the department of defense says (total).

Is it possible that the first 4 years of Clinton's term, there were 4302 deaths, while the first 4 years of Bush, with a war, there were a total of 5187?

Does this put things in perspective for the death toll shouters?

I joined 3 mar 97 and stayed in till 3 mar 01 the job sector stinks and i was actually lookin to go back in the army.. but theres no way in freekin hell im goin back in if i have to do basic again. I think that the anger at illegals and the talk about what to do them comes from the fact that they are a poor and powerless group that are often clearly different. That is a prescription for persecution and scapegoating.

Many of the Americans who have such strong hatred of illegals are Also powerless. They don't have any influence in the things affecting their lives and that is scaring them in this unstable economy. Most often they don't really understand how the world situation affects their lives.

So they take it out on illegals who can't fight back and who are convienent.

This is my second year in JROTC (Highschool). So that means im a upper level cadet. Which means me and some other people have to take charge of the new cadets thats in the program. Well in my class im the only male upper level cadet in their, and the rest is female upper level cadets, plus the new people there. My teacher always get on me by saying that I suppose to set the example, and all of that crap. And it's kinda hard for me since im the ONLY upper level cadet male in the class:( By me being a very shy person its hard for me to take charge, singing cadence to them, marching them to places and all of that.

How can I overcome this? I really don't like talking charge because people used to pick on my voice in the past.

Ok when some of you say the illegal immigration is caused by the Mexican Government, not taking care of it's own co-nationals, but then again some of you complaint the US government not taking care of you by not enforcing some laws

One I asked the question "Why should we legalize gay marriage?" and for details, I said," Hasn't marriage been defiled enough by divorce, adultery, and domestic violence?" Then, someone answered, "We shouldn't. So what your saying is because there are already problems with marriage we should add another one? That doesnt makes sense." So here is the case. I place an ad on Craiglist about someone that did something to me that he wasn't supposed to, and this someone finds out so he goes to my school and tells the officer there about the ad on Craiglist. The officer then drives over to my house, without calling, and tells me to stop or I will get in trouble. I didn't do anything illegal by posting the ad, I checked with the local PD and they saw and agreed. Was this officer in the right or in the wrong to do what he did? If wrong, what law did he break? P.S- I think he is cool, the next time I saw him at a Starbucks and said hi and all as he drove off :D
