So here is the case. I place an ad on Craiglist about someone that did something to me that he wasn't supposed to, and this someone finds out so he goes to my school and tells the officer there about the ad on Craiglist. The officer then drives over to my house, without calling, and tells me to stop or I will get in trouble. I didn't do anything illegal by posting the ad, I checked with the local PD and they saw and agreed. Was this officer in the right or in the wrong to do what he did? If wrong, what law did he break? P.S- I think he is cool, the next time I saw him at a Starbucks and said hi and all as he drove off :D

Just because he wasn't supposed to do something doesn't mean he broke the law.

Here's a bit of wisdom - don't fight the police. If they're corrupt, just try to stay out of their way. They have authority and even if you win, they will find a way to make sure you lose.

Police officers can arrest you wherever they want to, then they need to file a petition with the Court where you live for Extradition. Then they can take you back to their jurisdiction and prosecute you. You can run to Mexico and they can go get you and extradite you.
It sounds to me like you did something pretty stupid and hurtful, but not really against the law, so the cop thought he would have a little "chat" with you. Nothing illegal about it.

That is absurd! No the cop had no right to violate your personal space. Especially for something you did on craigslist!!! How did he know one of your friend wasn't using your computer at the time. As far as jurisdiction, all he did was talk to you. Its like a regular person talking to you, they can do it anywhere they want. They can't arrest you outside there jurisdictions though.

Anyone can appear at your door.

But if you live in Texas, and have a fence with a no tresspassing sign and it is night-time, you may shoot them.
