Ok, I really need an answer to this before tackling the 'big boys'. My two teenage boys attend the local secondary school (Ireland). At lunch time a lot of the students go to tesco to buy their lunch. It is shop policy that the kids are only allowed to use the three self service checkouts. I presume to keep an eye on them and so they don't annoy their adult consumers. They only have 3/4 hour for lunch and this delays them a lot. If they attempt to use another checkout, even if there is no one queueing at it. they are rudely told to go to the designated checkouts. I think this is attrocious! These kids are consumers aswell and surely have rights. Tesco also make a small fortune out of them. All opinions greatly appreciated. And anyone who knows the legal stance on this.

Why do most people think that most illegal immigrants have murdered, robbed, or committed other horrible crimes other than crossing the border?

Why do people think crossing the border should be a crime?

Wouldn't you try to look for a better life even if it was illegal?

Why do you think there are so many illegal immigrants, what if the U.S. government actually let us in legally, wouldn't there be more legal immigrants?

Do you think they don't pay taxes? If so why?

Do you think they affect the economy? In a good or bad way?

Why do most people think that just because some illegals are gangsters that we all are? Don't you think they hate them too?

I just want to know how come people think like that, I want explanations, not just answers.

If not, PLEASE take the time to get registered - and then go VOTE in your next election (and every one after that, too)! Remember, polls open early and stay open late almost everywhere - and there are tons of organizations who will be happy to arrange transportation!

Gaffe-prone US President George W Bush confused APEC with OPEC and transformed Australian troops into Austrians in a series of blunders in Sydney on Friday.

Mr Bush's tongue started slipping almost as soon as he started talking at a business forum on the eve of the APEC leaders summit.

"Mr Prime Minister, thank you for your introduction," he said. "Thank you for being such a fine host for the OPEC summit."

As the audience of several hundred people erupted in laughter, Bush corrected himself and joked, "He invited me to the OPEC summit next year."

Australia has never been a member of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

Later in his speech, Mr Bush recounted how Prime Minister John Howard had gone to visit "Austrian troops" last year in Iraq.

Mr Howard was visiting Australian troops. There are no Austrian troops in Iraq.

Does Bush even know what planet he's on?

They did send me a receipt from the cleaning agency, but why should they be able to charge me for this when I did all the cleaning stated in the lease? What was the point of checkout or even of cleaning if I was going to be charged for the cleaning of the whole apartment anyways? I am planning on e-mailing them to request a copy of the checkout sheets.

Manchester, N.H. -- Another key supporter of Republican presidential contender Rudy Giuliani suffered an embarrassment when he admitted the "serious sin" of at one time calling an escort service accused of being a prostitution ring.

Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), who is Giuliani's most prominent Southern conservative supporter, was implicated when the so-called "D.C. Madam" disclosed that his phone number was found among the telephone records of the escort service, Pamela Martin and Associates, in a period before he was elected to the Senate in 2004.

This was a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible," Vitter said in a statement Monday night. "Several years ago, I asked for and received forgiveness from God and my wife in confession ..and marriage counseling."

Vitter's implication in a prostitution ring comes just three days after Giuliani's former state campaign chairman for the crucial primary state of South Carolina was formally arraigned in a federal criminal cocaine-possession indictment.

After a town-hall meeting in New Hampshire yesterday, Giuliani called Vitter's admission a "personal matter" for Vitter. Giuliani also defended his own record of appointing qualified people as mayor of New York, though he conceded some were disappointments.

That two of Giuliani's key Southern supporters have become ensnared in prostitution and drug cases could revive concerns about some of his past New York associates, notably Bernard Kerik. He has pleaded guilty to two state corruption charges for accepting free renovation of his apartment.

This story was supplemented with Associated Press reports.

Many Americans concerned about the war in Iraq and think we should pull out. Osama bin Laden said that we lost faith in our democratic system and we now need to look to alternatives and embrace Islam. Isn't this what we should do to save our soldiers dying in Iraq for an unjust war? We recently saw a poll that most Americans think Hillary is the least religious of all candidates. Do you think if she wins she will be able to convert to Islam with the rest of us to save ourselves from terrorism?

Osama said we have two options, to either be killed by them or embrace Islam. Shouldn't the Democrats be converting to Islam instead of pulling out of Iraq? Wouldn't it be safer for us all? No longer would we have to fear wiretapping or snooping our libraries if the Democrats can show us to the freedom of Islam that will stop Osama bin Laden wrath. Also, have you guys ever seen a guy with such a big flat nose? I hope if we convert to Islam it doesn't make our nose look like a thumb.

i thought it was since congress would take too long to pass something that needed to be done very quickly and in the case of Crimson Tide the decisions can even be made by Denzel Washington,

but seriously, if this is the case then isnt anyone worried that our president could just snap and find a way to justify nuking Iran or some other country that might not even deserve it? or is there a way for this to be overridden?

In late August I submitted my letter of resignation, because I wanted to pursue different career options. Originally my last day would have been today. However, last thursday the city manager asked if I wanted to transfer to a different department which better utilized my skills, so I said I would.

I submitted my request and interviewed for the position. After my interview I sent another memo stating that should my transfer not be succusful that I would extend my last day until 9/28/07. I just learned that my request has been denied, without being given a reason, plus the job posting for my current postion is being advertised. What does this mean.

"You can support the troops but not the president"
-Representative Tom Delay (R-TX)

"[The] President…is once again releasing American military might on a foreign country with an ill-defined objective and no exit strategy. He has yet to tell the Congress how much this operation will cost. And he has not informed our nation's armed forces about how long they will be away from home. These strikes do not make for a sound foreign policy."
-Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA)

"American foreign policy is now one huge big mystery. Simply put, the administration is trying to lead the world with a feel-good foreign policy."
-Representative Tom Delay (R-TX)

"If we are going to commit American troops, we must be certain they have a clear mission, an achievable goal and an exit strategy."
-Karen Hughes, speaking on behalf of George W. Bush

"I had doubts about the bombing campaign from the beginning...I didn't think we had done enough in the diplomatic area."
-Senator Trent Lott (R-MS)

Why don't those same liberals ask the TERRORISTS to apologize for bombing the WORLD TRADE CENTER unprovoked?

When I heard the story on the radio this morning about Barrack Obama being stinky (that's what his wife said in Glamour magazine anyway) I was eating breakfast. Since then any time anyone mentions it I get sort of sick to my stomach. Did his wife really need to share this factoid with us? Does this help him in any way?

And does our constutition say you are not being patriotic if you don't believe in the President or the War. and is it true that most republicans are weathier than democrats? but dumber than most democrates is that true as well? are they mostly liars and cheats? and did Bill Clinton's extra martial affairs hurt our enconomy in any way. are Republicans so unsure of themselves that they will use any tactic to decieve the American people so that we will vote for them. and are we still making the rich richer and the poor poorer or that our children can't get a decent education or that people are losing their homes is it ok.Most Republicans always seems to blame everything on the Democrates, When will most republicans start accepting responsibilty for the mess we are in and stop blaming everyone else .President Bush is worried more about how much money he will make when he leaves office ,while our Men and women are dying in Iraq. no need to critque me I know my errors. thank you

If you were in a foxhole in Iraq with another American that had a political philosophy that was the opposite of yours, would you defend that person with your life?

Please - no comments about how cons or libs won't fight in a war. I've been there twice and have fought next to both. Please keep it civil.

I often think about how past wars would have been fought and what their outcomes would have been if people were as angry back then and wanted to get out when the troop death level reached then what it has now.

How has instant media (internet, 24-hour cable news) affected our perceptions of wars?

I'd like some thoughts on this.

http://abcnews.go.com/images/Politics/transcript2.pdf

He talks about "no blood for oil" and how the dems aren't doing what the american people voted them into power for.

He praises Noam Chomsky who is hero to the libs.

He also talks about the evil neo cons and the evil American corporations.

He even talks about America causing global warming.

To tell you all the truth, he doesn't sound any different than the left wing bloggers on this site.

To all of you libs, how does it feel to have your views echoed by Osama bin Laden?
