Has anyone besides myself ever noticed that the 3 major networks have young, good looking women (and in one case a young good looking man) coveiring Clinton's and Obama but they have old farts covering the Republican candidates.

Is this a concerted effort by the network or am I just overly sensative to the the networks trying to manipulate people's concepts of the candidates?

Were all men free? Did coal miners send their children to college? Did the average working person own their own home? Was the USA a world power with the strongest economy in the world?
The answer to these questions is no. Capitalism and the free market did not shape this country alone. Liberal reforms of the system did. To some of us liberal does not equate to socialism. Some of us still believe in equal opportunity, not equal outcome a socialistic agenda.
Before you dismiss all liberals as communists, consider the events that shaped this nation.

Although she appeared to campaign for Kerry/Edwards, what was she really doing? If you liberals are going to try to answer this one you're going to have to display some honesty. Otherwise, it won't work.

I will pick a best answer but before you say anything let me say this: I understand naval aviators land on carriers, just like in driving a car one is not a good driver because he/she can parallel park in a tight spot, its the over all skill not one thing. Any marine/air force fighter pilot can put in extra training to land on the carrier.

SO WHAT IS THE BEST BRANCH TO BECOME A FIGHTER PILOT?!

...shrinkage of federal government in terms of personnel & expense? Any of them promoting private education to replace our failed public education system/department?? Do any of them have any agenda to strengthen our dollar & curtail the debt based financial system that has devalued American's standard of living??? Do any of these three candidates running for the office of our commander in chief have any meaningful agenda at all but more of the same as usual & their own personal desires???? For me, I have noticed precious little difference between our current administration & the preceding two administrations. Will any of the three candidates mentioned in this post, if elected, be busy getting America back onto track regarding true constitutional representation????? Do you as an American truly feel that any of these three candidates have yours & your loved ones best interest at heart as their main reason for running for office? If not, do you of a current candidate that does?

Ok you lovely people on yahoo answers im writing a petition for everyone to sign, and i hope that people will sign, its a petition against council tax, and the fact that we have been totally screwed over by our own laws and government,

i am for one sick of the 2 week collections of rubbish, the fact foxes tip over the bins in the street and leave rubbish everywhere, which i have to clean up, im sick of the taxes i pay for things i dont even use!!!

i don't live in council housing i dont rely on other peoples handouts, i work hard through depression and my own health just so i can have a little luxury, surely it shouldn't be hell to get that right??

so this is for everyone who feels that they are the ones who need help, not the people who scum off the country, etc.. im reaching out to the hard working citizens who can hardly live on what they earn and get no help from anyone, its time we got a thankyou... a little extra in our paychecks etc...

discuss?

The question is, I have a bachelor's degree. But since I am not a US citizen yet, I have to join as enlisted, then when my citizenship comes which will be around the time I reenlist I'll be able to go to OCS. My question is, if I volunteer to go to Iraq as an enlisted, will that help me get rank and will it help me go to OCS?

Pay commissions in India are instituted every 10 years or so and they take more than 3 years to come out with recommendations. The whole process takes 10+3 = 13 years.
This is too large a time span and the economic circumstances in the country undergo drastic changes over such large time span. Consequently, for 6-7 years out of the 10+3 years of the life of pay commission process after every pay commission, Government Salaries and emoluments lag the market and the gap keeps increasing.

We now live in en era where companies draw quarterly balace sheets and profit and loss statements. Letters and fax messages are relics of the past and sms and e-mails share the load of bulk of the communication. Video conferencings are the in thing.
In such environment, 3 years for a report is too much. How about speeding up the things ?

Any early indications as to what the report is likely to recommend ?

Duh!

Who isn't? You'd get a cookie if you can tell me who does anything to worsen their lives. Obviously people do things to better themselves, it's the MEANS of getting there that's the problem.

People steal, rob, murder, even rape in the name of 'better their lives' and 'pursuit of happiness'. How is immigration tolerable under this argument?

I am hoping for more than "The Democrats are traitors who hate America and want to destroy it!" or "The Democrats want to raise Taxes just to screw over the working man!" or "The Republicans are Nazis and racists who profess to be patriotic as they take away our rights ---left to there own devices they'd throw any non-whites into prison camps!" or "The Republicans are the prositutes of corporate America and the Religious Reich!".

I think I have covered most of the troll talking points, so lets try having an honest response without unneccessary inflamatory word choices. Please, no baiting.

Give me your age and tell me if you identify with either main party. Do you only vote for one party? Do you only lean in one direction? Do you reject them both as tools of Corporate interests? Do you identify with Independents like Ralph Nader, or smaller parties like the green party? Does your historic voting reflect that?
