Ok you lovely people on yahoo answers im writing a petition for everyone to sign, and i hope that people will sign, its a petition against council tax, and the fact that we have been totally screwed over by our own laws and government,

i am for one sick of the 2 week collections of rubbish, the fact foxes tip over the bins in the street and leave rubbish everywhere, which i have to clean up, im sick of the taxes i pay for things i dont even use!!!

i don't live in council housing i dont rely on other peoples handouts, i work hard through depression and my own health just so i can have a little luxury, surely it shouldn't be hell to get that right??

so this is for everyone who feels that they are the ones who need help, not the people who scum off the country, etc.. im reaching out to the hard working citizens who can hardly live on what they earn and get no help from anyone, its time we got a thankyou... a little extra in our paychecks etc...

discuss?

I agree 110%. This government is providing for the wealthy while raping the lower class to death. Our democracy has long since failed and we're just now on the edge of change. The laws being passed against us (our loss of habius corpus for example) only digs into our freedom and hinders us as a nation. The majority of americans are still stuck in the brain washed coma that the corporate media has put them in. The world as we're told all the way from terrorism to gas prices is a freaking lie. Slowly but surely this sleeping giant (america) is waking up and realizing that this tyrannical government is not waging a war on terrorism but instead one of oil, big business, facism, and the beginning of a new world order where the uneducated and the lower class do the fighting.
The damage caused by the Bush administration has effected way more than we can fathom, our childrens children will reap the faults of this sick era. The democratic party is not going to fix this mess either, they are too only a lesser form of evil. The government abandoning the constitution (overly amended napkin now) is the last nail in the coffin, it's now a waiting game. It's all up to us, one spark and the old way will all be over. A new government focused souly on the rights of america and replacing much needed power to the states. The destruction of the social ladder, better health care and spurred economy is what the doctor ordered.

The council tax I pay I get a good service. Bins are collected regularly, recycled. Local amenities are good.

You do understand that council tax is not taken and spent by the governemt but by your local council which could be Labour, Tory, Lib Dem?

If you have a problem with how your local council is run, petition against them, and stand as a councillor yourself if you feel that strongly. It is easier for an independant to get elected as a councellor rather than an MP and then you can make a real difference.

I do not disagree with your sentiments, however petitions will not change the injustices of our system.

We elect people who we believe will make the changes that we want, and are disappointed time after time to find out that none of them have the answers, or in many cases have the same interests and concerns as we do.

There is an Election due any moment now.

Why don't you use your vote to get your point across?

Petitions to the Government against the Government do not get you anywhere.
