Marx believed that society keeps evolving and predicted that the most industrialized society in turn adopts communism. in such a stage there will not be any private ownership. none of the so called communist countries were even half way industrial when they enforced a communist system and also always had and have private ownership. evolution is inevidable and can't be enforced or quickened. evolution is slow and can't be felt but it is happening. who knows, may be in a thousand years may be longer communism will happen. it is a sure thing that it never happened and therefore haven't lost yet. untill then we can't say that Marx was wrong either. right? please answer logically and not emotionally!

I believe that Abraham Lincoln was a Republican and Jefferson Davis was a Democrat. I've reading a bit on the civil war (for school, so it's not much), and I'm under the impression that during that era, the Democrats were the White Supremacists and the Republicans wanted equality for all. Nowadays, people seem to view the Republicans as racists from the South (not that I do, I'm a Republican and I'm from Davis, CA, one of the most liberal towns I know...), and Democrats as looking forward to reform and change. I was just curious, does anyone know when this started happening?

Which is worse? And, how would you choose to punish someone guilty of these?
Which is worse?
Option #1: Traditional physical or sexual abuse of a child?(Kicking, Burning, Molestation) Option #2: Medically abusing a child? (Injecting feces into a feeding tube to make the child sick or scrubbing the child's skin with oven cleaner to give them an unexplainable rash- btw, these are documented real occurences)
And, how would you choose to punish the abuser?
I need as many answers as possible since this is part of my research for an essay I'm writing for my composition class.
There is a major difference between these options... Option #1, is generally caught and punished, while Option #2 can end one of three ways: The abuser is caught (usually years after initiating the abuse), the abuser moves on to a younger child when the original gets old enough to "tell on them", or the child dies. Also, 98% of the abusers in option #2, is the child's own mother. I'm not asking to be disgusting!

I was watching 'Power of 10', a game show on TV tonight, and I was just appalled. I can't help but think this is unbridled racism and nothing else. Is American not a country that was founded on people from different cultural backgrounds? I am Canadian and live in a very multicultural city and I think this is one of Canada's greatest strengths - our multiculturalism. Yes, there is racism here, but I think people are very tolerant and welcoming to people of different backgrounds and this makes our country better. It just seems insane to me that so many people feel this way.

Second Opinion
Zen and the Art of Coping With Alzheimer’s
By DENISE GRADY Published: August 14, 2007
NewYork Times
During the YouTube forum with the Democratic presidential candidates in July, the first question about health care came from two middle-age brothers in Iowa, who faced the camera with their elderly mother. Not everybody with Alzheimer’s disease has two loving sons to take care of them, they said, adding that a boom in dementia is expected in the next few decades. “What are you prepared to do to fight this disease now?” they asked. The politicians mouthed generalities about health care, larded with poignant anecdotes.
None of them answered the question about Alzheimer’s.

The origional founders of this country did not intend for the people to be taxed into slavery, however the constution has been "amended" too many times. Small taxes on people were levyed for small reasons should have been repealed once the need had been met. But there has been no checks and balances, to make sure that thease unfair taxes had been repealed. So we keep feeding the Government cash cow when the government does not even need the people to make there moeny they can make whatever they need because they are the federal reserve bank. So why does the government even need to tax the people if they are trying to force them into submission.

A direct tax is unconsitutional. Then why do our law makers keep supporting something that should have been repealed and they keep raiseing taxes and raiseing their own wages and makeing the people pay for it when the people should not be paying for it. What do you think has this waste gone far enough?

Things are expensive and I try so hard to take care of my kids and make a good life for them. BUT I feel so beat-up everyday I worry, about the bills, money and food. I thank God everyday for what ever we have. I want to know How can the state determine that even though the non-custodial parent doesn't pay child support he still can see the kids. That even though he hasn't been paying child support doesn't make him a bad father. YES it does show he is a BAD FATHER because he isn't taking care of his kids, all hes doing is taking care of himself. The only reason he started seeing the kids is because he wants to feel like a man because the kids call him dad or he wants to feel important. What ever the reason is. A Good Father takes care of his kids, making sure they have a place to live, food, money for things the kids need, health insurance and so on. I takecare of my kids everyday and he hasn't but why does he have more rights than I do and WHY is the state letting my kids and I suffer?
