How much did Reagan save us by outsmarting the Soviets? We no longer have an arms race.

The Republicans and their "let them eat cake" philosophy came up with the "trickle down theory" of economics which has bankrupted the country every time they get into the White House with these ideas.

This graph shows this very clearly, even more than the nice one you gave us, that Clinton gave us years of healthy economic growth while eliminating the budget deficit. Since Dubbya came in, the old ways of Reagan and Bush I have been eclipsed and the debt is mushrooming. The "conservative" men of values have actually nearly bankrupted the country, while Clinton "it's the economy stupid" was turning that completely around.

Assuming for a second that Reagan had anything to do with the collapse of the Soviet Union - how did that save us money? When Clinton used exactly that argument (that the cold war was over - not that Reagan single handedly won it) to justify a 3% cut in defence spending you lot went bezerk and are still trying to pretend that the incompetence of this administration is due to Clinton "culling the military".

Your chart simply shows Reaganomics at work. Tax cuts don't work they just cause deficits. I truly believe the only thing that will save Reagan from being considered one of the worst president is Bush 2 has been such a disaster that he makes Reagan look good.

Reagan and the Bushes ran up the debt. Clinton balanced the budget because the Republicans in Congress shut down the government twice in order to force him to do so.

the same effect hot air has on a balloon.
Spending yourself into more debt than the next guy, isn't what I call out-smarting them.
