Marx believed that society keeps evolving and predicted that the most industrialized society in turn adopts communism. in such a stage there will not be any private ownership. none of the so called communist countries were even half way industrial when they enforced a communist system and also always had and have private ownership. evolution is inevidable and can't be enforced or quickened. evolution is slow and can't be felt but it is happening. who knows, may be in a thousand years may be longer communism will happen. it is a sure thing that it never happened and therefore haven't lost yet. untill then we can't say that Marx was wrong either. right? please answer logically and not emotionally!

TED, you are right, i think that is tribalism. and Marx thought that history or the cycle repeats itself but in a different time and therefore more complex

I've argued for years that just because something is given a name does not mean that that is what it is. In fact in most cases it is almost the opposite. i.e. The peoples democratic republic usually means it does not represent the people and is run by an oppressive dictatorship. I can't think of a single truly democratic country that calls itself that.
It is just possible that a form of communism has existed among the Aborigines of Australia in the distant past as they had no concept of ownership of property but they were certainly not industrialised. Still could have been a nice way to live until we came along.

Communism has existed in some form or other throughout history! Some people even believe that the early Christian communities mentioned in the Bible were communistic societies. In one sense, all communism means is simply communal living. Some of the earliest U. S. Colonialists tried it, and found that it didn't work! In the 1960s and early 1970s, many "Flower People" and "hippies" tried living in "communes" and it didn't work for them, either! BTW: Do you realize that Thomas Paine was one of the earliest Communists know by name in Colonial American History? Also, did you know that Karl Marx was living in Great Britain and his major source of income at the time of writing, "Das Kapital" and "The Communist Manifesto", was Friedrich Engels, who was drawing a steadily increasing income from the family business in Manchester? Doesn't sound like "pure communism" to me!

The so-called "principles" of communism are too flawed to ever be called perfect and cannot be expected to "evolve" into a workable economic system! Have you actually studied communism, socialism, fascism, etc.? It doesn't sound like it! I wrote a paper on Soviet Union style Communism for my High School World Government class approximately 50 years ago - little has changed since then!

No "halfway industrial" or better, nation would implement Communism. The destruction of private property will lead to the destruction of technological and societal progress. Communism will never happen. People will try to implement, it, but they will always be in the minority and rugged individualists will prevail.
Private Enterprise is what yields technological breakthroughs. Where is the incentive in Communism to produce new and better things? The status quo will always remain, because with no incentive to take risks, risks will not be taken.

Edit: At no point did I claim to know what technologies are coming... However historically, Private Enterprise, or more often, private individuals, have been the catalyst of technological innovation and improvement. They all had to take risks to achieve their ends, be the risks financial, social, or physical.

Edit: You could say that Communism indeed lost, at it's conception, since no nation in Europe, where the Manifesto was most widely distributed during the 19th Century, decided to truly implement the policies advocated.

Edit: Indeed, Communists were often defeated, handily, during the many "Revolutions" of the 19th Century all over Europe.

I suggest you check your facts. Both the Soviet Union and China were communist countries for decades. And just because Karl Marx had a political philosophy, more approriately called Marxism and not communism, it doesn't mean that he alone was the only person to shape what became communism.

Okay, if commmunism never existed, then what was the Russian Communist Party (1918) and Communist Party of the Soviet Union (1952) parties for?

ADD: So much for logic. You can't or won't accept any answer unless it matches your belief, so why try?

No. that's why China is straight away growing to be further and extra capitalist. interior the subsequent ten to 2 decades, China will now no longer be communist and as a result, would be between the main technologically stepped forward countries on earth.

I'm sorry to differ with you. Communism is alive and well in our country. People like Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Joe Biden, and Edward Kennedy have kept their true party love in secret for a long time. It looks like they are coming out of the closet now. What disturbs me the most is that their followers just keep following no matter what garbage they spew.

That is the common excuse used by those who refuse to face the fact that the fantasy system does not work in the real world. Good luck living in fantasyland.
