Vaughn,
There's a certain indiviual in the House judiciary, The Koran is his "Constitution" of the United States.
NOT to the Real Constitution of the United States.
You always hear how Christians are tearing America down from Liberals, but you never hear what danger Islam poses from them.
It's odd in the greatest sense.

I've heard them say that, I've heard them say the President, I've heard them say the republicans when they were in power in congress......but isn't it amazing that I haven't seen one thing from any of those that I would consider shredding the Constitution...but what I DO see is my Constitutional right of free speech being shredded every time the dems try to sneak in the fairness doctrine to silence talk radio...I do see my second amendment right to bear arms under attack by dems who are constantly trying to outlaw my way of protection, outlawing my right to carry, and sneaking in bills that hamper manufactures of ammunition to make it too expensive to buy ammo for my guns.what I do see is McCainFingold limiting my right to hear anything about a candidate 30 days before an election and yes, I consider McCain a dem even though he is a republican..I see actual Constitutioal rights being shredded and the very ones who are doing the shredding point their crooked finger at others and accuse THEM of being the shredders.

Blah blah blah. Why are conservatives happy with Bush shredding the form and spending yet no longer ok while Obama does an analogous? "Obamacare" heavily isn't unconstitutional until the perfect court says that's. Bush's unlawful wiretaps have been infrequently constitutional.

Sorry I am a liberal and I do not remember saying the constitution is being ripped to shreds (I do believe Bush has taken some things too far) and certainly have not blamed christianity (being a christian myself this would be an odd thing to do). Who exactly did say this?
Is it just easier to make up ludicrous claims about liberals and rant about those than to actually try to learn something?

Christianity? Who the hell said that? I'll be a lot more specific than that- President George W. Bush is ripping the constitution to shreds, and I'll thank you not to mar my religion by associating it with that soulless monster.
Nobody is blaming Islam, because they aren't much participating in our government at a federal level yet. Stop cowering before Islam- they can't do anything but take sucker punches, and it's embarassing for America.

I'm a liberal, and I haven't heard ANYONE accusing Christianity of destroying the Constitution. It's true that we don't want the Constitution amended for religious reasons, but we're pretty wary of ANY amendments that limit instead of expanding rights.
We *do* accuse Bush of damaging the Constitution, through things like warrantless wiretapping (which a handful of Democrats have also supported recently, curse them) and giving unchecked power to the executive branch. Why aren't you going THERE?
Edited to Add: What in the world has Islam got to do with the US Constitution, or vice versa? Other than that the Constitution allows freedom of religion within our country, I mean. It doesn't allow freedom of terrorism, so any terrorists from Bin Laden to McVeigh isn't finding special Constitutional sanctuary.
ETA: "A certain individual," you write with feigned mystery. If you mean a Representative who's a Muslim--the one Muslim in Congress--that's hardly the same as him saying the Koran is his Constitution. You sound like those crazies who didn't want to elect JFK for fear that the Pope would then control the country.

Probably because we don't have a muslim group claiming to be the "Moral Majority" and trying to push their faith based ideas on everyone. Those types, the extreme right-wingers of the muslim religion, we just label as terrorists.

Wrong. They say the president.
You are making no sense.
Islam is as much a threat to america as a small child is a threat to me. The child could kick me and cause some temporary pain, but no reasonable person would ever think the child is a threat.

It's strange how they will defend Islam so swiftly. I agree with greatrightwingco. Wish I could have thought to say that.
