The physical requirements are the same as for any other branch of service. All use Army Regulation 40-501, Chapter Two as the Standards of Medical Fitness for initial enlistment or appointment. Your being color blind can be a barrier to certain electronic rates which require good color perception, but is not a cause for automatic disqualification.

You do not have to have color vision to join, but certain fields or jobs require color vision. A color blind test will be administered at the MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station, at Boot Camp, and during each physical (Navy).

Color blindness will keep you from becoming an electrian (EM), electronics technician (ET) or similar rates. Most other rates allow for color blindness.

Don't try to lie about; my cousin cheated to pass the color blind test, but he got caught later on. When he was in school to be an EM, he could not distinguish the color of the electrical wires. He was court-martialed for fraudelent enlistment and given an other than honorable discharge.
