Some landlords (the sleezy ones) think they can keep the deposit, even if you leave the place perfect. Remember that in most states, you can sue the owner of the place for 3-10x the amount of the deposit if they don't return it!!! Renters have legal rights too. I hope all landlords read up on this and stop being so stupid. Owners cannot enter property w/o prior permission. They cannot show the house to prospective buyers or renters w/o prior notification. They cannot show up unexpectedly. Renters have the right to peace and quiet. Owners cannot lock renters out, w/o a court eviction notice that has expired. Owners must keep the renters' deposits in a separate account. They cannot charge for normal wear and tear of a place. Renters, read up on YOUR rights! Owners, be advised that you renters CAN take you court if you don't follow the laws!

If he runs, the lefties will swoon, fawn, and heap praise during the primaries. Then they will quietly vote for someone else. Afterwards, they will cluck and moan about how other people’s racism caused his defeat. Just wait until Hillary and her minions pull out the long knives and start stabbing. BO wont know what hit him.

Please bare with me here?

Under the Patriot Act how easy would it be for someone to set someone els up for whatever reason as an Extremist?

Let's say Mike was up for a promotion at work and so was Farid.

Mike really needs the promotion because he has a child who is suffering from an illness that is very costly.
So Mike decides he must figure out a way to make Farid a non-issue.
Mike decides to plant Jihadist and Extremist Al Qaeda materials in Farid's locker at work.
Mike calls the FBI. (remember the store clerk who alerted the FBI?)
They arrest Farid under suspicion of sympathezing with the enemy.
Under our Patriot Act Farid can be arrested without charge, without access to an attorney, family, or an advocate on his behalf!!
Farid can be held like this for years!!

You don't think this can happen??

This is but one example.

How many citizens are we willing to compromise??

"The pundits like to slice-and-dice our country into Red States and Blue States; Red States for Republicans, Blue States for Democrats. But I've got news for them too. We worship an awesome God in the Blue States, and we don't like federal agents poking around in our libraries in the Red States. We coach Little League in the Blue States and yes, we got some gay friends in the Red States. There are patriots who opposed the war in Iraq and patriots who supported the war in Iraq. We are one people, all of us pledging allegiance to the stars and stripes, all of us defending the United States of America." -Barack Obama

This is why a conservative can support Barack Obama.
I don't even care if this is just empty rhetoric, it is rhetoric than needs to be said, no, shouted from the rooftops. Nothing would be more healing to this divided nation than an end to partisan hacks, many of whom post on this forum with all the eloquency of an insane street person.

Would you support Obama?

We laugh and shake our heads in amazement at how overly cruel and evil the Spanish were for their methods during the Spanish Inquisition, but here we are centuries later with the Patriot Act giving the Government similar powers. They can take you without telling you why, don't have to give you a lawyer...and this is all IF they suspect you of terrorism.
Strikes me as odd that we mock previous societies, then recreate their lunacy in the modern world..your thoughts?
And no smart ars3 comments please.

I need some help with legal wording on two motions I wish to enter into my upcoming court case. I make just enough money to not qualify for an attorney, and not enough to pay for one myself, so I need some help.

This is what I need some help figuring out: I wish to have the judge's(1st motion), and county attorney's(second motion) oaths (that they took when they took their offices) read into the trial record.
I suppose I could write it just like this, but usually if you don't have things worded perfectly for court, it can get tossed out.

Any help whatsoever, would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

My fiancee recentally joined the army, his recruiter told him to lie about his medical history. Even the army finds out that he has gone to the doctor ( for a sprained ankle ect.) will they discharge him? He is literally on the plane to go to Basic right now. so does that mean he is in the clear or what?

Does someone think that they're being clever or impressing anyone by posting questions that are designed to insult one group or another? Do they think they're convincing anyone that their arguments are good or valid?

Or does everyone understand that these people are morons and flame baiters?

I often see in the news people getting arrested for started fires. What I want to know is how do the investigators catch these people? Obviously some might be stupid and get caught in the act or seen by witnesses. But most of the time this isn't the case. So when a person say dumps gasoline in a forest, lights a match, then runs away, how the heck do they prove or even find out who did it? Also consider the fact that any evidence like forensic hairs are probably burned away!

watch every clip, do not trust anyone who claims to speak for the troops. Don't beleive the bullshit that the troops want to be 'saved' from Iraq, they are men, they do not need your 'help.'

-Came to power under 'unusual' circumstances

-LBJ Creates original Federal Student Loans program, Bush is first to reform it, and 'reforms' it twice in five years

-LBJ Creates Medicare / Medicaid ; Bush expands programs with largest new entitlement, the hundred billion a year prescription drug benefit

-LBJ breaks tradition to federally fund education ; Bush expands federal funding for education faster than anyone since LBJ through "No Child Left Behind"

-LBJ opens immigration via Ted Kennedy sponsored legislation ; Bush attempts to open immigration via, you guessed it, Ted Kennedy legislation

Democrats, would Bush belong in your party if he renamed his domestic agenda: "Great Society?"

Republicans, would you support LBJ if he was tough on terror?

I regrettably cut someone off on the road today, they drop up beside me and swerved into my lane, grazing my driverside mirror. There was a very minor scrathc the size of my pinky.

The car then sped in front of me and stopped in the middle of the road. Passenger got out, and began approaching my car. Feeling threatened for my own well being, I drove off and decided to get a safe distance away before stopping. 5 minutes after I got home, an officer showed up saying a report had been filed. I explained the situation, and he seemed very understandin. He found the incident to be so minor that he did not write up a report for me.

I now got a call saying I've been cited for leaving the scene of an accident...I feel like this is wrong since I was the one who was hit and the officer who showed up at my house failed to make a report....what should I do?????
