Well, it's not exactly Bush's "plan," but I'm pretty certain things will start improving deficit-wise when he steps down on January 20, 2009.

No need. It's been decreasing for a few years. When one has to fight a war with the army one has and that army was neglected for 12 years, it takes quite a bit of money up front to get things to a reasonable state but that is a short term event. It caused a huge deficit but it has been naturally closing since and the increased income due to the across the board tax cuts has accelerated that closing. Still, that was a huge hole created by the GHW Bush and Clinton teams so it'll take a while to fill.

The deficit has decreased the last 3 years straight.
I don't think it happened on it's own, do you ?
NOTE:
Everyone does know, never has a Democratic Controlled Congress ever balanced the Federal Budget, in the history of the United States.
Not once ever !!!!!!!!
In the last 60 years, only Republican controlled Congress's have balanced the Federal Budget.

His plan is for Iraq to stabilize and for the Iraqi army to take over security from the US, thus cutting our expenditures there. How good the odds of that happening are any body's guess ... but is would decrease the deficit if it happens.

Bushs only plans are to;
1. Take over all oil supply. *The US government has been suppressing discoveries of new alternate fuel source for years- I.E. -there is a machine that produces fire from air. The only emissions is... water. Do you think that if this machine was produced and sold to average people, anyone would need oil? No! -It's all about dictator Bushs' greed and power struggle.
2. Genocide. The illuminati have been killing us peons (middle and low class) for 100's of years. YouTube search: chemtrails, the truth about vaccines, fema detention centers, etc... While you're there, YouTube search: illuminati, bohemian grove, skull and bones society, new world order, etc, etc, etc...
The truth is there, you just have to find it!
Just Be Aware, that's all!

Ok Jeeper - why then when we have a Republican congress and a Republican President do we always see spending blow outs?
Do Republican congresses hold Republican Presidents to different standards? Or did perhaps Clinton have some influence.
To blame congress for deficits and/or give them credit for balanced/surplus budgets is disingenuous to say the least.
The executive branch proposes a budget and so obviously has input. They also have methods of spending outside of congressional control.

No, concerns of the deficit are trivialized by the concerns he is focused on, and further trivialized by the real meaning of the deficit in terms of international trade.

I don't think so. And even if he intends to decrease the deficit, how can he do that when his agenda is to allocate more money for Iraq.

It's in process. I would be more worried about the national debt. That is what will sink this country. But Congress has their pork projects....
The presidential candidates should be thinking about all the t-bills China is holding. especially in light of all the problems with their imports. we keep squawking about the problems and they will flood the market with those t-bills and kill our economy.

It's been decreasing at record speeds due to the inflow of money into the government from the tax cuts. If you were paying attention, you would know this.
