friendly fire happens all the time, and it will happen again.
Pat tillman is not the first to be killed by friendly fire. The problem was the cover up. The government when finding out the sitiuation knew they were in from some heat with such a high profile person losing their life in the war. And the reason for death (the reason we are told) is not the best for the public to hear.

He was killed by friendly fire. That is confirmed fact.

He was killed by an attack that came from under 100 feet away. That is reported medical information.

He was killed by several shots in a tight grouping to his head. This is speculation based on leaked information.

Many people in his chain of command lied about what happened for public relations reasons. This is confirmed fact.

Other than that, we don't know.
