I can remember a time of sacrifice, and stamp rationing, and yes the black-market also, but for the most, we obeyed our leaders, and helped to make sure the boys at the battle-front got the best of what we were blessed with and had control of, with very little prompting or government control to give. Too young to fight, no! I remembered the hitler youth camps, and how the nazi's taught their kids to hate other race, and the jews, and how as the last, put them in uniforms ( the people of that time in Germany, had to respect a uniform) and sent them in to be murdered under the third reich banner. We spanked some of the youngest, and held them for their mothers, and fed them also. As I look at things now, I see a bunch of asleep sheep, too silly minded and caught up with silly people in sports, hollywood, and yes the congress idiots, that check and govern by the poles! To silly and ignorant of facts to be effective in winning this war, against the brain rotted enemy.

In particular, I'm trying to get background information showing:
- how many republican vs democrats are on or have been on welfare
- state by state breakdowns of welfare recipients
- the green party/Ralph Nader/Libertarian Party stances and voting records on welfare
Also, are welfare recipients ever checked for drug usage, why or why not?

Has anyone ever had a vehicle, that was legally authorized as handicapped towed because the vehicle was parked on private property and the handicapped parking space was intended for the use of residents only? A sign that says authorized vehicles only is misleading since a handicapped license gives authority to park in a handicapped parking space. I would like to know if this happens often. We can't tell people what to put on their own property, but the use of the handicapped insignia can be resticted to public use only. Perhaps private property should post their own signs. Therefore, when the universal insignia for handicapped parking is present, the handicapped person would know that they are not parking illegally. How do you think a situation like this could be improved?

Islam and Christianity are the two religions have consistently waged war against humanity for hundreds of years. Tancredo may as well be consistent about putting a stop to that kind of problem.

It's kind of like a parent telling there child "don't do this because its bad for you" Well battery acid is bad for me, If I drank battery acid I would die.....so does that mean battery acid should be illegal? If they can trust people with alcohol they should be able to trust people with other things. What do you think.

Throughout the past 6 years, I have seen and heard people blame Bush for anything from Katrina, to the tsunami, to the MN bridge collapse. How can people expect the majority of Americans to take these people seriously, when they make accusations such as these? Bush aimed Katrina at New Orleans? Bush caused the bridge collapse? How? I've even heard people say Bush caused the sun to become more active. If he's that powerful, I'm glad he's on our side. *shaking my head*

shows assimilation to be preferable to multiculturalism. People are taking what they want out of it, though.

What do you think?

"IT HAS BECOME increasingly popular to speak of racial and ethnic diversity as a civic strength. From multicultural festivals to pronouncements from political leaders, the message is the same: our differences make us stronger.

But a massive new study, based on detailed interviews of nearly 30,000 people across America, has concluded just the opposite. Harvard political scientist Robert Putnam -- famous for "Bowling Alone," his 2000 book on declining civic engagement -- has found that the greater the diversity in a community, the fewer people vote and the less they volunteer, the less they give to charity and work on community projects. In the most diverse communities, neighbors trust one another about half as much as they do in the most homogenous settings.

A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age she considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat and was for distribution of all wealth.

She felt deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican which she expressed openly. One day she was challenging her father on his beliefs and his opposition to higher taxes on the rich & the addition of more government welfare
programs. Based on the lectures that she had participated in and the occasional chat with a professor she felt that for years her father had obviously harbored an evil, even selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.

The self professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father.

The UN has approved a peacekeeping force for Darfur. It looks like the crucial issue has been "respecting Sudanese sovereignty". This surely means that the blue helmets will once again have no power or authority to stop govenment sanctioned murders. I'm not quite old enough to remember peacekeepers in the Sinai from 1956-1967, but I can remember ones who came later. In some cases, perhaps, things did remain peaceful. But in others, Bosnia comes to mind, they looked the other way while massacres occured right under their noses. Their reason for inaction boiled down to "interfering with this is not in our orders." If that is the case, then what is the point of sending troops in at all? It seems that peacekeepers are paper tigers in a very real sense. Perhaps people didn't realize that in the first few decades, but do they really think they are fooling anyone anymore? What can they expect to accomplish with this?

House shifts $16 billion toward renewable energy!
Republicans called it a "no-energy bill" because it lacks new drilling incentives, and they derided the new emphasis on renewables as "green pork." The White House threatened to veto the bill on concerns that it could boost energy prices.

Didn't Bush say that the USA is addicted to oil and needs to find alternate energy sources? Or was he just refering to ethanol?
