Iraq: US military announces 4 more soldier deaths

The Associated Press
Published: August 5, 2007

BAGHDAD: Four U.S. soldiers were killed in separate attacks in and around Baghdad, the military said Sunday.

Two soldiers died of wounds suffered during fighting on Sunday in the capital, the American military said in a statement.

A soldier also died and two were wounded Saturday during combat operations in western Baghdad, the U.S. military said in a statement.

Another died of wounds suffered when a roadside bomb detonated near a U.S. vehicle the same day, during combat near Baghdad. It looks as if this will end up being another Vietnam.

The Shi’ites and the Kurds have oil. The Sunnis want oil. Their war is mostly about oil.

Bush’s war is futile and unnecessary. He is risking the lives of our troops in a foreign oil war only to blame his disaster on the next President. The House of Representatives can and must stop funding Bush’s war with a simple majority of “Nay” votes. No war can be funded without assent of the House. The Senate is not relevant.

Our Representatives wrongly fear that a cutoff would harm the troops. They should read the Constitution. The Separation of Powers gives Congress sole responsibility for declaring and financing wars and gives the Commander-in-Chief sole responsibility for those under his command. If the House stops funding the war, the President must either remove our troops from harm’s way or else be solely responsible for harm done to them. The House could then impeach both Bush and Cheney. The Senate may then convict them.

see the Jihadists' fight as being anti-West or anti-US or even anti-Christian? There are just as many acts of jihadist terrorism against people and countries that have nothing to do with the US and the West as there are against the US and the West. They're beheading Buddhists all over Southeast Asia, for example.

Jihad isn't a war against the West - it's a war against non-Muslim civilization.

America isn't perfect, American policies aren't perfect, American leaders aren't perfect - - - but they didn't create Jihad and they're not the sole target of Jihad.

If fathers have to pay child support for children they didn't want, should mothers have to pay compensation for a child that he wanted, but the mother aborted?

There's a recent issue proposed saying women need the father's permission to get an abortion, and if she can't prove the father, or prove that she was raped, she's out of luck. While I'm all for father's having equal rights, but I think this proposal is horrible, and I don't think it's right to force a person to do anything. A mother should be able to do whatever she wants, but should there be consequences as well?

So, I have my "this for that" idea. What do you think?

When you "follow the money" you find out all sorts of things about the presidential candidates and who theyre really working for. Alot of Americans know this, and alot of Americans are angry about it.

So the question; Why doesnt it change? Dont say there are no candidates out there with no strings attached. There are. One is Mike Gravel. Heres a video of him responding to a question about campaign finance and explaining John Edwards' investments that reveal conflict of interest. Respond to it if you like, but do give me your take on why nothing changes though.

Being a person who is extremely fed up with "current" republicans, I was definitely going to vote Democrat in 2008 just for the sake of choosing the less of two evils. Except when I have seen Ron Paul's "unpopular" stance and restoring the republic. What a huge unmistakable breath of fresh air. I think the most admirable thing is the fact that his views are so unaccepted. A run of the mill candidate would not dream of going against the political grain. For them it is all about leaning on whatever they can to get elected, everything else is second priority. Who else agree's with the new Ron Paul era?

I'm against abortion only because of the child. Without the childs involvement it would be like if a woman were to saw off her own leg. I would care less it's her leg. But somebody needs to be on the childs side.

What do you think?
