Some people think pregnancy is the result of unprotected sex. Birth control/protection is not 100%,it sometimes fails.

My personal beliefs are that a parent should teach their children about sex and morality. It seems some were not educated and need someone to teach them, read a book or something.

Yes. Not just sex education but basic sexual health education for both sexes.

It is NOT about some moral attitudes it is about knowing how to take care of your self and to make intelligent decisions about your own body.

Forget worrying about teenagers having sex we are.

I think it is scary that so many American ADULTS need sex education today.

Morality is the job of the parent. Education is the job of the school. I've seen more nonsense written about "am I pregnant, when can I get pregnant, can you get pregnant the first time, etc". What passes for sex ed isn't very exciting or immoral, its more like plumbing. Its extremely incomplete too, just glossing over things like types of protection, and details of conception and reproduction, we are in such haste never to offend anyone that we water sex ed down to dry dust without the information a teen might need. Parents can teach their kids to say no, they have the right to use churches too, on their own time, but the creep of religious morality about basic health and body issues is assuring us a nation of ignorance. Ignorance is never good, it never kept a young girl from losing her virginity to a young man whose hormones are working overtime. We also need to understand that simply telling a young girl not to have sex is worthless unless they tell their sons the same thing. Its not all up to the girl, the boys must get the message that you don't tell your girlfriend if she doesn't someone else will.

I would wager that 99.9% of pregnancies are the result of unprotected sex, and in a society that every day attacks the right of women to control their own bodies, pregnancy is more and more the result of rape disguised as a man's Biblical prerogative.

So, it's unprotected sex and non-functioning brains that cause pregnancy, wanted and unwanted, in the US today.

A little education telling boys that it's not their God-given right to empregnate anyone they choose would go a long way toward curbing this problem.

All women and even men should know that pregnancy results when male sperm meets the female egg in a woman's body during the 'unsafe' portion of a woman's menstrual cycle. But when a radio reporter randomly asks people on the street what a hymen is and people respond they have no clue, yes we definitely need more sex education.

Yeah your right about that , there is no sure protection against getting pregnant but the pill and next day pill is your best bet. Some people can't use either of these two forms of birth control their body rejects them and they make them get sick. So, that is why we have Row versus Wade, where women have a right to choose to go to a sterile hospital to obtain a abortion if it is outlawed than they will go to back street unsanitary conditions and sometimes die of infection.from dirty tools used. That is why I am 100 % for a woman's right to choose, that is her body and she should be able to do with her own body as she sees fit.

Your first two respondents have very good answers, especially "GoGo Girls". And, in line with what "intelligence_check" says, I can assure you, having been a mental health professional for 20+ years, now retired, there's a whole helluva lot more misinformation running around than anything worth paying attention to. I'd be VERY careful who I was allowing to "educate" others, including my children (now full grown adults). There's just an incredible amount of grotesque, immoral trash being spewed out, in the name of "education", than was ever worth putting our lives at such risk. God Bless you.

Who's the OTHER girl? If both people are virgins then there is little chance of STD unless one was born of an infected parent. However, there is a BIG chance of pregnancy, so you need to use protection.

The best birth control comes from an aspirin. If the girl would just hold the aspirin between her knees, with her knees, she would not get pregnant.
