When you "follow the money" you find out all sorts of things about the presidential candidates and who theyre really working for. Alot of Americans know this, and alot of Americans are angry about it.
So the question; Why doesnt it change? Dont say there are no candidates out there with no strings attached. There are. One is Mike Gravel. Heres a video of him responding to a question about campaign finance and explaining John Edwards' investments that reveal conflict of interest. Respond to it if you like, but do give me your take on why nothing changes though.

Wolf: This is far from being just a Democratic Party problem. The Republicans are just as guilty of corruption as the Dems are. Just look, Ted Stevens now is under investigation as well as many others who have been recently and who still are now.

Sick and tired?
No.
Corruption and greed are as old as the world.
It would be like fretting about disease and the fact that once you're born you HAVE to die.
Corruption and greed are in the background with disease and disaster.
I try to concentrate my efforts on life and things that promote life and quality of life.
I tend to vote for candidates who most closely reflect these same goals. I don't fret about how much alcohol they once drank or what mud their opponents can dig up about them. I concentrate on who they are now, and on their accomplishments and qualifications to this point.
In the end, at the voting booth, my opinion is the only one that matters.

Corruption is inevitable, and since it exists on both sides of the aisle, it doesn't change the government's course of action as much as it could. Many have argued that corrupt politicians get things done better than non-corrupt ones.
The root cause of corruption in modern times (in the US) is the fact that politicians need money from corporations/special interest groups in order to campaign. The only way to fix this would be to have the government fund candidates' campaigns, which would be a stupid idea on many levels, and lead to other, worse forms of corruption.
Edit: I think the only place that's devoid of corruption is Antarctica. But that's because it's not controlled by any one nation, and has no government. And most people in the world wouldn't want to live there.

Nothing will ever change as long as there is no laws on the books that says you can't use money from interest groups in campaigns for president. Of course these same law makers are the ones who make the laws and that is why it will never happen.

Look up the definition of corrupt. It means (basically) screwed up. Now, in our screwed up system, the power is here, here, and here. Nowhere else. The system of Checks and Balances only works when representatives have the good of the U.S. at heart. It DOESN'T work when every one is conspiring against us to get our money. Every freaking Republican, Democrat, and in between is in it for:
1)The money.
2)The power.
And very rarely,3)Helping the people after aquiring both 1 and 2.
They will always try to get our last few pennies. Noone will ever try to gain presidency by saying they will un-corrupt us and then actually do it. They will always try and get us. That's the reason we're corrupt! The only way to be able to get to runner-up is to step on so many freakin' heads it's unbeleivable. The ONLY way we will ever be free is if:
A)We go to Canada.
B)We go to Mexico.
C)We go to Europe.
D)We go to Asia.
E)We go to South America.
F)We go to Africa.
G)We go to Australia.(I hear they have really big shrimp.)
H)We go to Antartica.
I)We go any where!!!
What's that? You want to stay? Well, I think I have a J option...
Here it is!It is:
J)We get every freakin person in America to storm the white house and burn it to the ground.
Now the problem with that is,
~There will always be suck-ups, wanting money.
~There will always be Christians, who are delusioned enough.
~There will always be "Good American Men" Who are as delusioned as the Christians.
Do you see the problem now?

I think the American voter is to blame. If they were really concerned and did just a little homework they would know which candidates are holding true to their principles and which ones are just poll followers. The one that will stick to his guns and provide leadership towards your goals and desires is the one you should vote for. We as voters need to completely ignore TV sound bites and the media and do our homework. I am intelligent enough to make a decision and I wish other voters had the same intelligence.

Corruption isn't only confined to the upper levels of politics,
sometimes the corruption is just as bad or worse on the local level

Yes.
But......It makes a difference Who is involved in the Corruption.
Thanks to our Liberal News Media, most Democrat Politicians Are Above The Law.
In the last year, the following have been involved in Corruption:
Pelosi
Reid
Hillary
Obama
Jefferson
Feinstein
Scott
Mollohan
Conyers
Berger
McAuliffe
Masri
Murtha
Nelson
But it is okay. The News Media buries these stories on page 18, because they are all Democrats.
Cool!!!!!

Yes its like the days of Sodom and Gomorrah when God couldn't find one worthy or honest enough to save the great city. Revelations says that at the end of time God will find no man worthy to open the book of life.
