more than 1% of muslims are radical islams. I would say that most muslims are. Because even moderate muslims are "extreme". In the koran it says it is their duty to kill all christians and jews and to make islamic rule that of all people. In the bible it does not say it is the duty of christians to kill all muslims or hindu's or buddhis, if it does show me a scripture.

No. Remember all Muslims are not terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslim.

The people that are killing others do not have a religion, even though they claim they do. Events like 9/11 have put a negative image on many muslims because the villans behind 9/11 claimed to be muslim. They took the Koran and claimed to have understood it in a differnet way. This way has almost always included some form of bloodshed.

Muslims dont single out Christians and Muslims from other sects to kill they merely strive to kill all non believers, it is all there in the Koran.

I have tried to study some of the Koran... but I have way so much more to try and learn.. it is hard to find teachers.. however, I do not believe all Muslims want to kill Christians or Jews.

I think it is like every other religion.. they all have their idiot radicals who think for some odd reason that God is speaking to them alone.. ands they get it into their heads that they must kill in order to reach some level of goodness.. or some such nonsense. But i recognize this and therefore do not automatically hate anyone who is of the Muslim faith.. I judge people on their actions , not their beliefs.

I have never read the Koran, But If what is being relayed here is in it, then I believe that Muslims are truly indoctrinated and brain washed.

Every culture has a religion - some just extend it to extremes and incorporate things that benefit their own life style

Hogwash! The Koran says it's O.K. to kill "non-believers". Jews and Christians, along with Muslims, are considered the "people of the book". What book? The Bible!
The doctrine of "Takfir" says it's O.K. for Muslim to kill Muslim in carrying out Jihad. It's a heresy, first put forth by Seyyid Qutb, one of the co-founders of the Muslim Brotherhood.

No, the math just doesn't support that conclusion.

1.3 billion Muslims -- if even 1% of those were violent terrorists, that would be 13 million --- which would allow for 1300 suicide bombers every day for 30 years before they run out. And that's assuming only 1% were violent.

Yes, parts of the Koran call for violence. Just as parts of the Bible do. And yes, some radical or fundamentalist followers of those religions follow those calls for violence.

Most do not. Most consider those demands for violence to be obsolete and outdated in the modern world, and instead use persuasion and advocacy to advance the cause of their religion.

Don't blame an entire religion just because it has some fanatics who don't know how to act reasonably.

Look, you can selectively quote any religious text and make any group look like crazy war-mongerers. I could easily do it with the Bible, but that would be offensive and not the point.

Here is the primary source of reference for Muslims when it comes to relations with "unbelievers":

"Basic Law Regulating Relations With Unbelievers

[60:8] GOD does not enjoin you from befriending those who do not fight you because of religion, and do not evict you from your homes. You may befriend them and be equitable towards them. GOD loves the equitable."

Sounds to me like they're only to be hostile if you fight them because they're Muslim, or try to evict them from their home or country. I think that's a pretty reasonable standard, myself.

I'm sure somebody can point to other quotes that seem to contradict this, but that's exactly my point: there are both peaceful and intolerant quotes in the Qu'ran, as there are in the Bible and many other religious texts.

Moderate, peace-loving people of all religions will place more weight on the peaceful quotes, whereas extremists and fanatics will use other quotes to justify their hate and war-mongering.

All religious texts are full of hyperbole; the language is intended to touch people's hearts and incite their passions. That's why individual quotes, particularly when they're in the context of a "fiery admonition", can do injustice to the overall tone of the text.

No not all but the many who do not support this are afraid to speak out against it as their lives would in danger. I have great respect the few who do as they out their faith foremost and not allowing it to be high jacked by the extremist.

With this said we still must be vigilant and aware not to let our guard down in any way as the few in their ranks are still very large numbers. And their ideology is that any one who is not one of them can and should be killed or enslaved. And these only know the strength of the sword and they can never be treated the way we would want to be treated as they have shown many times over from the Turkish Genocide of Armenians, Greeks and others. And the fact that Sunni's and Shiite's kill each other and with in the same sects.

No, and the question implies it is their duty to kill everyone in the world (all christians and muslims).
The Koran preaches peace, not violence. The only muslims that believe killing christians is their duty are the radical extremists

Since not all muslims are currently on a murderous rampage through Christain lands I'm thinking... possibly. Or as I like to say, don't ask questions that are as simple as the writing on a bathroom wall.
