What happened to this generation?

I can remember a time of sacrifice, and stamp rationing,and yes the black-market also, but for the most, we obeyed our leaders, and helped to make sure the boys at the battle-front got the best of what we were blessed with and had control of, with very little prompting or government control to give. Too young to fight, no! I remembered the hitler youth camps, and how the nazi's taught their kids to hate other race, and the jews, and how as the last, put them in uniforms ( the people of that time in Germany, had to respect a uniform) and sent them in to be murdered under the third reich banner. We spanked some of the youngest, and held them for their mothers, and fed them also. As I look at things now, I see a bunch of asleep sheep, too silly minded and caught up with silly people in sports, hollywood, and yes the congress idiots, that check and govern by the poles! To silly and ignorant of facts to be effective in winning this war, against the brain rotted enemy.

E-mail skip, yes! you are right to that particular passed on notion, but things are more relaxed, and tangled in a thing called political correctness, when now is the time to tighten up and declare our displeasure with our enemies and so called friends alike!

I am pleased to receive all good varied answers, each with something to add to the rant. Some that watch violent type sports ( with an exception to the wrestling fans) are unbalanced in the hormone, and brain wave dept, and grab the joy stick when they see persons hurt or menaced. Think back to the days of thumbs up, thumbs down gladiator battles.

This generation may be sleeping, or maybe to put it in perspective, they are held silent by the fithy hand of the media over our mouths, lest we complain, and they charge us with insensitivity, and zealot bigotry. The ridiculous are honored, and their silly laws are enforced by hand tied well meaning lawmen. The lawbreakers don't give a damb about gun laws and such, and we stand unarmed when they have juvenile temper fits, and attack us in schools, restaurants, and place of business. Cowards all of them!! Let women run the country, mothers are better at protecting their kind, and offspring.

It became the fault of the previous era. My era has the dad and mom from the drug days of the 60's and the hangover of the 70's. The Liberals, who got here from the "hippies" whilst claiming social substitute, if truth be told have been a detriment to their own reason, as they warred with one yet another. it is to not say that each and every person Liberals and Conservatives fall into those categories. I actual have acquaintances who're conservatives who particularly have morals and values, and are Christians not basically in call, yet in practice besides. I think the sheepliness that you see is very valid. There is a new type of personality that is dominant in America-seemingly outgoing and very cooperative, but actually completely self-interested and self-centered.

Self-centered without being particularly individualistic, self-centered without a spine.

Remember we're talking about two generations ago. The children of the World War II generation are the new grandparents now, and their kids are generally worse.

Self-centered personalities have a hard time doing serious work that requires postponing immediate gratification.

This is an age of moral equivalence and mediocracy. By mediocracy, I mean that people who are intelligent enough to cause trouble but not intelligent enough to be constructive become our leaders... in other words, petty, competitive, mediocre people who need their egos stroked.

By moral equivalence, I mean that every action is neither moral or immoral. Since we live in an era of political correctness, we are judged as groups by other groups, rather than as individuals by other individuals.

I see a lot of the political, racial, and sexist sniping on this forum as an example of groupthink and groupspeak. Rather than being judged as a person by a person, we are judged as groups by other groups. We put the mediocre people in charge, and then they label us as groups and turn us against each other, saying "those liberals caused this" or "those conservatives did that" or "the blacks" or "the whites" or the Republicans or Democrats... always with a scapegoat.

By doing this, our mediocre leaders keep themselves in power, and us ignorant and divided, so they are free to commit immoral actions in an age of moral equivalence.

You have identified the problem -- a nation of sheep.

Too many people don't care...... because what happens doesn't impact their lives, and thus doesn't motivate them enough to do anything about it.

Leaving mostly just the fanatics on both ends pushing for their agendas --- and a few loud-mouthed moderates (like myself) shouting at the rooftops that we need to stop letting the fanatics at both ends make all the decisions.

Billionaire socialist George Soros who controls a lot of the liberal media (see wikipedia) pushes his political agenda as he deals in foreign currencies and that is how he makes money. His foundations, moveon.org (only one example) finance the liberal airwaves.

To get work the nuts in the entertainment industry also spew disrespectful statements. The labor unions want to be in control

Teachers = Labor Unions as well, that is why our youth is being taught mostly by liberals. (As you say, brain rotting).

Same thing that people say has happened to every generation before them---there going to hell. They dress funny, their music is crazy, the don't respect their elders and they don't believe in christianity. Doomed they are~!
