something I think about. What are your thoughts. For those ofyo who dont know what peak oil is. It is the point in time that Oil production peaks then goes into decline as we slowly but surely run out of it. Prices will go up and as it gets worse the standard of living will go down. It is forecast to happen any time between 2010 to 3020

the summary:
i am currently on suspension at my job for an alleged fruadelent return scheme. the day of the incident i did a cash return for a woman returning a lock box...i made a mistake on the sku number, but the transaction was fine.
loss provention called the police and i was not arrested because lack of evidence. but i was mailed a complaint stating i was being charged with larceny over $250, and the complaint stated there was a record of transactions under my employee number that were alleged to be fraudlent.

the facts:
my job has no solid proof that i stole money or property.
there is no proof that the other transactions were done by me. ( if employees forget to take out their code on the register another employee can function under your number - i have a witness co-worker to confirm this)
also the complaint is completely wrong from the charge. the complaint is discussing the one transaction, where the charge is for a greater crime.....please give me your opinion!!!!

For year we have been at war with Islamic terrorist but no one that I know of has ever attempted to explain why they hate us. Prior to World War II we were much admired by these underdeveloped nations.

"Congress is currently debating the reauthorization of SCHIP, the highly successful State Children's Health Insurance Program. By increasing the tax on cigarettes, we can expand SCHIP so that millions more uninsured children in our country get the quality care they deserve. And, raising the taxes on cigarettes means fewer kids will start smoking."

If you can't afford children, don't have them. The welfare system is already a mess with rampant abuse.

Why not open federal orphanages?
Or make birth-control mandatory for repeat offenders? It could be like a two-strikes law.

I understand that Suicide is a bad thing, but why is it illegal? I've read on some other posted questions that the Government Owns your body and can throw you in jail if you failed to kill yourself, is that true?

I mean, whats the punishment to someone who commits suicide? Are they really going to throw a dead body in jail?

"Everybody has his/her own rights" why doesn't this affect whether people choose to live or die?

I just don't see why its illegal.

Can't we find space on the White House lawn for:---

A small statue of Al Gore humping a short elm tree?

John Kerry, showing frustration in that long face, while trying to remove that big foot from his mouth?

Maybe one of Jane Fonda saluting the flag with her middle finger?

A large bust of Obama, where visitors could relax in the shade of his ears?

Something in bronze depicting Howard Dean delivering his famous victory S C R E A M?

Perhaps a gold plaque showing Bill Clinton sitting in the Oval Office smelling his cigar?

We might even find room for a memorial to Hilary, --baking cookies in the White House kitchen, with a short peice of chain hooked to Bill's chastity belt.

Come on people , haven't these leaders earned their place in the hearts of all Americans?

And now ladies and gentlemen our National Anthem.

You can put (nearly) anything on your checks. (I am sure obscenties are not allowed.) I need your help in deciding what to put there. My top runners are:

"In GOD We Trust"
"President Clinton -This time with pants"
"The Goracle is full of Hot Air" or
"Vote Republican"

Choose one of the above or give me one of yours--anything vulgar will be reported!

Democrats Scramble to Expand Eavesdropping

In another unbelievable story; the headline is really all you need here. This is the New York Times: "Democrats Scrambling to Expand Eavesdropping." Yes, you heard right. "Under pressure from President Bush, Democrat leaders in Congress are scrambling to pass legislation this week to expand the government's electronic wiretapping powers." Dingy Harry, "in a statement Monday night, said, 'We hope our Republican counterparts will work together with us to fix the problem, rather than try again to gain partisan political advantage at the expense of our national security.'" What an absolute hoot! We hope our Republican counterparts will work together with us, the Democrats, to fix the problem? There wasn't a problem until you guys came along and tried to dismantle it! Then to accuse the Republicans of gaining partisan political advantage at the expense of our national security? Ha!

Dingy Harry, if you read the whole story here, is blaming Republican in Name Only Republicans "for endangering American citizens by threatening to investigate President Bush and eavesdropping on suspected terrorists"! The chutzpah! They have spent two years trying to nail Bush on this. Now all of a sudden, they're blaming Republicans for it. I'm telling you, these clowns have done all they can to eliminate the power inherent in the presidency during Bush's term. Now they're hastening to restore it in time -- and guess why? Herself: Hillary Clinton. The terrorist surveillance program is now about 50% as powerful as it used to be, and besides, the headbangers now know what we're doing. The whole exposure of this in the New York Times blew the program sky high. The program's been compromised. Thank you, Pinch Sulzberger -- who, of course, doesn't bring his liberal ideology to his newspaper like Rupert Murdoch does.

Hi, I am a resident of Long Island. I've learned recently that future presidential candidate Ms. Hilary Clinton is out in the Hamptons, and if you want, you may have the great honor of being within the same picture as her! Wow!(Yes, that was all sarcastic.) Now, I admit, it would be nice to have your picture taken with who may soon be President, but she is charging $10,000, that's right, 10 grand, for one of these little photos. Does anyone else find that disgusting? I also think it's very arrogant. I mean, come on, it's a picture... what do you think?

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on Wednesday accused Vice President Dick Cheney of falsely portraying her attempt to get Iraq planning information out of the Pentagon.

Clinton been hammering top Pentagon aide to tell her whether or how the military was planning for the eventual withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq.

In a letter to the vice president, she accused Cheney of offering “inaccuracies” in opposing her request.

Eric Edelman wrote to the New York senator last month that such discussion boosts “enemy propaganda.” Clinton called that answer “outrageous” and accused the Pentagon of ducking a serious issue.

Cheney said discussing specific troop movement plans with Congress could tip off the enemy.

Should killing be made illegal? Seriously, if you kill someone but you use a car as the weapon, don't worry about getting in trouble. This link:

tells about a driver who had a suspended license and no insurance hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk. The pedestrian died and the driver wasn't even arrested. Isn't that insane?

So I posted a question with a media article and majority of the people read it and simply gave an answer. Well an individual pointed out to me that I needed to "check" my source for credability. So I did and I also acknowledged his point. (This question had to do with O'Reilly(yes I know O'Reilly isn't a news reporter) and media outlets claiming their unbiased reporting.)

What it also did was make me wonder this.

Is there ANY media, including up to television, newspapers, scholarly journals, radio, nonprofit or profit, that will report simply the "facts?"

Whether or not it's the reporter, the media outlet providing the coverage, executive management and even the reader.

Think about it, whether intentional or not will there not always be "some" form of bias when media covers politics and news?

Before you start lecturing I know that liberal has become a slander in many people's minds. However, it is just a word which describes a particular political ideology. Do you not just add fuel to the fire by allowing yourself to be riled by a mere term, no matter what context it is used in? Wouldn't you be better served to attack the content of what is being said in conjuction with that term? I am not trying to challenge anyone here and I am not trying to be glib. I am just honestly curious. The reason is because I do not feel the same level of animosity in myself when someone uses the term conservative.

Here's the deal. I have been working for this company for over a year and the job requires a lot of lifting and bending over, and other things that I have a doctors note saying that I cannot do while I am in the last trimester of pregnancy. My work has laid me off becasue they say they cannot accomodate me because all of the money that htey have in their payroll budget is for people who can perform the job completely. Basically, they laid me ioff becasue they can't afford to pay me if they are just having me there to do light duty, which I find rediculous. To me, this sounds a lot like preganncy discrimination. I am able to draw unemployment benefits while I am off, but it is only $115 a week, where I bring home $350 a week while working. This financailly burdens my family, obviously, which is why I am hot about this whole thing. Please, if you KNOW how these laws regarding pregnancy and the workplace work, let me know if I have an argument against them.

or is anyone else sick of seeing wives and girlfriends complaining that thier spouse/boyfriend is in Iraq? My husband is on his 6th tour and honestly it doesn't even bother me anymore. I can't stand seeing people complaining about something they knew they were getting into when they married a military member. All the "I can't live without him" whining. Is it just me?

My father was in the AF and retired as an E-9. He was OSI and was undercover for a good portion of his career. My husband is now in the AF and as a crew Chief he is gone constantly. We have a great marriage and a beautiful son. My husband has never been home for one of his birthdays and has been home for one Christmas. He lovs his job and I support him totally! He has done one 12 month tour and is now on 6th 4 month tour, all of which he VOLUNTEERED for.
