Hi, I am a resident of Long Island. I've learned recently that future presidential candidate Ms. Hilary Clinton is out in the Hamptons, and if you want, you may have the great honor of being within the same picture as her! Wow!(Yes, that was all sarcastic.) Now, I admit, it would be nice to have your picture taken with who may soon be President, but she is charging $10,000, that's right, 10 grand, for one of these little photos. Does anyone else find that disgusting? I also think it's very arrogant. I mean, come on, it's a picture... what do you think?

Unfortunately that's the nature of politics in the US.
Of course if it was a Republican it would be all over the front page of the New York Times and be the lead story on every nightly newscast. No doubt accompanied by endless commentary about the greed and corruption it represents, and demands for an investigation this 'major scandal'.
Of course, since it's a Democrat doing it, there's no reason to report it. Just like there was no reason to report Harry Reid being convicted of worse finance violations than Tom Delay was ever accused of.
His conviction got four column inches on page 19.
Does anyone remember how many front page stories were done on Delay when all they had were allegations unsupported by any evidence? The same stories that were never retracted, even when it turned out there had never been any evidence for them.

Well, it's all part of her political fund raising efforts. But what I really found disgusting is how independent thinkers like you New Yorkers could even elect her in the first place to be your representative in the Senate. She wasn't born or reared in New York, in fact, she wasn't even a citizen of your great state until you all put her in office.

Is politics only about name recognition and who has the most money to spend?

I'd rather pay for the air I breathe than be in a picture with Hillary Clinton.

I'd pay her 10,000 to drop from the race, that's about it. I would not even want to be in the same room with that thing.

Money for her campaign. Can't say I blame her. This isn't the first time this has happened. Ever here about those "dinners" you can attend for ridiculous prices, too?

It's all for funding her campaign however disgusting it may be.

surely that is based on income since she is a socialist , maybe 10k if you make over 200k , then 8k if you make 150k , and if you make 25k a year she gets someone who makes 100k to pay 2k for it
