Most have not "forgotten". They just define it differently.
To them (as a generalization), freedom is being able to do anything out of a fixed list of allowable behaviors that the communitiy has approved.

First off. Please explain to me what a Neo-Con is. I would bet you heard this on the radio or from one of your wacko friends. The next time you see one of these Neo-Cons, thank him for your freedom. If it was up to you linguini spined girly-boys, we would probably be speaking German. You people will never learn that appeasement has never contributed to your freedom.

Neo-cons are not Conservative. Do you have any clue as to what you are inferring or are you just parroting someone else? Neo-cons are liberal leaning Republicans. They are not moving right they are moving toward socialism which is left.

Considering you are free to spew such nonsense, and not be arrested and jailed for it, I'm surprised you can even ask this question with a straight face.
Let me tell you what freedom means to me. It means the gov't listening in on terrorist phone calls without a warrant, to prevent me and my family being nuked or killed with other WMDs.
It means having to put up with idiotic statements such as yours.
It means going about my life, pretty much as normal, even after 9/11, because the gov't is doing all it can to protect us and our rights.

I've noticed that most extreme lefties and neo-cons will sometimes defend their positions just for the sake of not looking like their wrong. It's a bit pig headed and it accomplishes nothing. So yes, people on the far right and far left are pretty removed from the ideas of freedom sometimes.
