If Dick Cheney is impeached by the House who will preside at his trial? The Constitution only says that the Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court presides at a presidential impeachment trial.

If I used the same tactics used on radio and media would a lot of people in the USA start to buy into what I am saying? I mean if I cherry picked storries and took things out of context to make the Taliban look good and Americans bad, would it work? I bet I could spin it pretty well.

My roommate is a conditional release officer. Basically he is a juveline probation officer. Recently one of his kids pulled a gun and killed another youth who was on a bike and shot him 5 times in his back. I do not know why this happened, but the youth on the bike was killed.

My roommate said he was one of his good kids and did not know why he did this and he is in remorse for this kid and feels kind of responsible.

I told him that kids of today are like tigers who can turn and he needs to understand that it wasn't his fault. It made the news and though my roommate was not named, he feels very bad about it. I told him that he could only do his best for his youths that were on conditional release. He still feels bad about this, but I don't think he should. What do you think of such youths that commit such crimes and how it affects their probation officers?

Using all or part of the name of a politician or famous figure, what one line quip could you use to describe them.

Here's one to get the ball rolling:

"Cheney by name, Dick by Nature".

Not interested in your political affiliation, just well thought out tightly constructed quips.

It seems that today. Republicans aren't republicans and democrats are Giant sissies with no spine to stand up for something. Republicans are suppose to stand for very little government involvement and a free market. However, it seems with the NSA wire tapping and un-bided contracts for Halliburton they have gone away from their core values. Democrats are suppose to be more for the people, but with a majority control in the house and congress they haven't done a freaking thing for the people. They are more interested in attacking Republicans. Not that Bush and Cheney haven't done some inappropriate things that I feel they should be held accountable for. I would just like to see Democrats focus on more then just attacking Republicans. The question is what do "we the people do" Unless your dirt poor and on welfare or rich making more 250k plus a year. neither party does anything for you. The middle class seems to be ignored. Will any of the candidates change any of this?

When I went to "Girl's State", I learned each political party creates a "platform" of issues to be promoted if the party wins, but we don't hear anything about it. We just hear "what do YOU want to do, Obama or Hillary or whomever!"... it should NOT matter WHO is the president if we are ALL ON BOARD with the platform issues. When the Dems play "politics" like this, they don't really want to help working people. Let's take the party back.... get a platform, and stick to it... and it won't matter who gets the democratic nomination because it would be their job to "promote" the platform issues.

You see a growing number of Republican (Bush) voters after the election of 2000 despite his bad reputation and decreasing approval rating*.

Will this Republican trend continue towards the 2008 election?

Out of curiosity list the state you live in and if you are a Republican or Democrat?

Me:
Alabama
Republican

Back in college I had to take a Philosophy course in that course I was exposed to the actual "Communist Manifesto" by Karl Marx. In that book I was struck at how it pertains to the present day not the entire philosophy, but some portions. Marx stated that the powers that be in order to stay in power would stir up trouble, expose differences all to keep the common man at each others throat.
That being said I point out the constant bickering between common people not the politicians, but people like you and me. Now I ask you how many people here liberal or conservative get to talk to their representative in Washington or have had their U.S. Senator intervene on their behalf. Few if any but those same politicians Democratic or Republican have open arms for their fat cat contributors. These contributors are the one that control our government, not us.
I think it is serious time that people start the formation of a new party one that truly represents what us, the American People want!
