Hey kevin, i'm 17 and I just join the Navy, they have this thing called the DEP (delayed entry program) and I don't leave until july 14,2008 because I'm in high school. How old are you? When you turn 17 if your parents let you you can sign up. while your waiting, join the jrotc program at your school(it counts for your career in the marines whether it's army, navy, air force,or marines jrotc). Good luck.

Historically, lying about being the right age for military service has produced truely exceptional servicemen (and quite a few duds, as well). If you want to be in boot camp as soon as possible, that's pretty much your only way of getting in underaged. Since it's dishonest and extremely difficult to get away with these days, it's best to wait until you're old enough. Start applying early enough to be enlisted not long after you turn 17.
From personal experience though, it's best to finish high school. Get an part time job - fast food restaurants are good, they'll make you work quickly. When I did recruit training, all the 17 year old drop outs had the most trouble adapting. And this was in the Australian Army, mind you - USMC boot camp is far more brutal.

It used to be that you could. You really can't until you turn 17. However -- you can talk to your local recruiter. Your local recruiter will be glad to give you assistance in preparing to join the marines when you hit the legal age. They will also help you convince your parents if your parents don't want you to join. They will also help you prepare for the physical aspects.
