I think Obama presents a problem for Democrats as a Presidential candidate. And, it's because of race. It's clear that America is divided about 50/50 between Rebublican and Democrat. Without a 3rd party candidate in the mix, neither a Democrat or Republican is going to win by more than about 3 percentage points (Clinton won by more than that, but only because of Perot). If Obama gets the nomination, there are enough racist white Democrats that would simply not vote at all (or, switch to the Republican party) that would prevent him from being elected. The same would be true if Republicans nominated a black candidate. I'm not at all suggesting there are large numbers of racists on either side. But, the election is so close that it will only take a few. About the only black who might change that might be someone like Colin Powell ... he would pick up enough Democrat votes to make up for a few racist Republicans. I don't think Obama would pick up enough Republican votes to make up for a few racist Democrats.

Making history means accomplishing something that will improve the lives of Americans for many years to come.

Merely being black does not qualify.

Something more is required.

For example we have the oppotunity to solve the problems of world terrorism and Global Warming.

If we solve those problems that will make history, not the first black president. Give me a break.

The way we solve the problems of terrorism and Global Warming is to blockade Iran to prevent Iran from exporting so much as a drop of oil.

This will shut off the money supply for terrorism since Iran is the primary source of funding for world wide terrorism, and the oil exported by Iran is one of the primary sources of the carbon dioxide that causes Global Warming.

If Barack Obama will blockade Iran and prevent them from exporting any oil, then Barack Obama will be a great pesident.

If Barack Obama is not willing to blockade Iran, then he is nothing more than another clueless nitwit in a line of clueless nitwtis.

This may sound harsh, but this is just my opinion:

Let's be real...it doesn't matter if he has all the experience in the world (which he lacks), America is not ready for that. If, by a very very clim chance, Americans actually did elect him, I'm sad to say that an attempt will be made on his life. As racist as this country is, there is no way in the world white America will let it happen.

America is ready for a black president, but it isn't going to be just because he or she is black. Obama is too Liberal for the general population.

Anything is possible. It's as possible as America making history with a female president.

But likely? In the case of Obama, my hunch is no.

Barack Obama is anti-Israel, also anti- Christian!! His interest wouldn't be for the good of this country, no more than Hillary Clinton's would be.

Sure Barack Obama fits the profile - he's a product of affirmative action... you can extrapolate from that.
