this war is initially about bin laden and al qaeda/taliban.(afghanistan) as for iraq, we had intel believeing hussein had weapons of mass destruction and could possibly have terror cells, but we were incorrect. anyways, saddam dug his own grave by not allowing weapons inspectors in the country. that was all part of the agreement during desert storm. he broke the deal so we had every right to attack him. Bush admitted our intel was incorrect, but we still must stay the course. Overthrowing Saddam is a good thing, but now we cannot just leave Iraq. If the terrorists gain power of an actual country we will be in bad shape. yes, we made some mistakes, but the biggest mistake would be running from our problems now.(trust me, it can get worse if we leave) We are in Iraq to establish and stabalize a government and military.

NOT ABOUT THE ******* OIL, we've lost more money that could ever be recupriated by oil. What do people even mean when they spew that ignorant crap. There is NOT ONE SHRED OF EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT IT. Stop regurgitating what the other guy says and actually research it.

Not about terrorism, if that were true, we would've gone after Pakistan or Iran first

Not about bringing peace to Iraq, it's lost it's only sense of stability when Saddam was taken out of power

If I had to venture a guess, I'd say it's either to destabilize middle-eastern strongholds that could threaten the US in the future or we're attempting to finish a war that should've been taken care of after the Gulf War

It's about fighting to destablise the region for America's allies and special friends, Israel - after Iraq, Iran remains Israel's biggest threat and how much does anyone want to bet that American troops will be sent there too - Israelis only want to fight the more helpless enemy, such as the Palestinians and Lebanese.

the oil is a non-issue.

our security, my grand children's freedom, security and not having to fight bin laden or Odie Saddam in our streets. The marines whom took out Saddam's sons saved this country from chaos when they took over after dad, hook Saddam's sons and bin laden or others and their armies together and they would have been fighting in our streets, want Iraq in your back yard? well that is what our soldiers are guaranteeing us all.

Seriously? Destabilizing the middle eastern bloc; oil is a secondary benefit.

When George Bush SR. was pres. he declared war in the middle east and now he has asked his son to continue on. Its all a conspiracy. George Bush has no idea what he has gotten himself into!

In my opinion, I think that Bush Jr. is picking up where his daddy left off...While Bill Clinton was in office, were we in a war?
