That's a damn good question!!! I think that we would have been done with the war becuase if their was a draft, those soldiers, saliors, etc. would have been force to go and demanded to come home instead of us volunteering to go clean up Bush's ****.

Right now a small percentage of American families have a member fighting in Iraq. If the draft were reinstated then the number of families affected by sons or daughters risking their lives in a fruitless war will expand considerably. Once those draftees begin coming home in body bags the American people would be so outraged that even King George could no longer ignore the people of the United States.

Why would we need a draft, when congress has capped the Active military at 1.4 million people ?

Congress would have to approve a much larger military, before we would need a draft to fill the positions.

Heck, even during vietnam, only 10% of the men eligible for the draft, were actually drafted.

Yes, a draft would not change anything. We would just have an endless flow of minimally trained inexperienced troops fighting. Did the draft end Vietnam?

If this were truly a global war on terror, President Bush would have had Congress reinstate the draft on September 12, 2001. This is not a global war on terror; the invasion of Iraq was to nail the tyrant who tried to kill the president's father and seize the oil in Iraq.

Yes, the reason being is because the government leaders could really careless because it is not their worthless *ss having to go and fight their war that they choose to start. However, if these same clowns were to go over there and actually fight instead of running their damn mouth in the comforts of their padded chairs chances are the US would not be in war today because our ever so-wonderful elected officials would not pick up a gun and go fight. Our government would rather have somebody else die just so they won't look bad. The Vietnam War was proof.

Yes, probably would but we would not be doing as well since todays armed forces are volunteers who want to be there and are highly trained.

Noname, dont forget Gores son now too in your anger. And When did we ever draft females, as in Bush's daughters or Cheney's?

YES. But the young illeagle immigrants wouldn't be jumping to fence to be in the USA. We didn't have an illeagle immigration problem during Nam. And Chico didn't want to be here and made legal, he would have to serve 2 years in the Army. BRING BACK THE DRAFT. Stop immigration.

Let's get it straight, you either win or lose a war.
Truces and ceasefires do not count, all they do is let the enemy rearm and regroup to fight another day.
You want peace,be feared by your enemies.
