I have a question about doing traffic school. i have done traffic school in the past six months for a speeding ticket I received in CA. I recently received a ticket in Texas for speeding. Does anyone know if i can do traffic school for the recent ticket in Texas. Can Texas look up and find out that i have already completed traffic school in California. Any info would be helpful. thanks.

a TX Judge will pull your driving history prior to your court date and will already be aware of your recent driving school...best thing is to be honest about it...ask the Judge to place you on "deferred adjudication"...it will expunge the ticket from your record if you complete 90-180 days without acquiring another traffic violation.

The same thing happened to a friend of mine from Missouri. He got a speeding ticket in Texas, but did not have the time to go to court in Texas. He forgot about the ticket (so he said),and later received a letter from The courts in Texas saying if he did not send the money for the fine, they would contact the DMV in his town in Missouri, and points would be deducted from his license, and he would be arrested and taken back to Texas to face the judge there. All states cooperate with each other in these matters. You cannot outrun the long arm of the law.You can probably just pay the ticket, and that will be the end of it.

Getting a ticket in another state, means you have to go to traffic school in that state, to reduce the points in that state.

Texas will not need to check your California driving record, they will only be concerned with what you have done in Texas.

Just stop speeding, you will get there. Sounds to me like you have to pay for another class I thought they only gave you 90 days. You have to call the traffic school to find out.

Well...try it and see. Some states however, have something called a "reciprocal law". That means if your license is suspended in one state, that means your privilege to drive in the other state is also suspended. Meaning you can't go to Nevada to get a D.L. and go back home to Cali. using you new Nevada D.L. to get around. This is just an example; you'll have to check on the laws in CA & TX.
