I routinely work 6 hour shifts without a break, in fact I'm told by management that I don't get a break for working 6 hours. I know in some states this is illegal. Is it illegal for my employers to do this? I live in Illinois if that helps at all.

Thanks!

And make them more medieval, dammit. Stoning, burning at the stake, firing squads, hanging. Enough with this wimpy lethal injection nonsense. Heck, let's bring back Old Sparky!!

I can see arguments on both sides. On the against side it could be said a serving soldier should not have a forum to criticise superior officers in public, on the for side, they are of course adults putting their lives at risk for the west and its values, so why not. What do others think?

I don't think people who cannot afford children should be having them.
Why do these people think they are OWED medical care and food stamps for having a child. Entitlements have to stop and we NEED to be promoting a work ethic in this society.

It also reflects the fact that Hispanics — the group most likely to be poor and least likely to have private health insurance — are having more babies than any other group in Arizona.
The trend would continue upward under an Arizona Senate budget proposal that would allow more women to qualify for prenatal care through the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System.
AHCCCS paid for 53,121 baby deliveries last year, about 52 percent of the state's 102,042 births, continuing a trend that started in 2003.

Why can't they accept the proof provided by study after study that demonstrates that the death penalty deters crime? After all, they think we should all drink the kool-aid about man causing global warming.

"Science does really draw a conclusion. It did. There is no question about it," said Naci Mocan, an economics professor at the University of Colorado at Denver. "The conclusion is there is a deterrent effect."

The only evidence libs have that the death penalty doesn't deter crime is all their whiny hot air.

I've never felt this way. I always thought of myself as a lifelong liberal. I told several good friends to immediatlely kill me if I became conservative....

I'm 18, and going to university next year. I don't want to take out student loans that will haunt me later in life so I got a full time summer job. But that wasn't enough money, so I got a second job part-time. I now work a total of 60 hours a week (hardly the lazy liberal). Last time I got my paystub, I got enraged at the taxes on it!! I mean I have s*** to pay for!!!

Also, after hanging our in the Ethics section, maybe capital punishment is on to something.....perphaps abortion really is murder....

With my time-consuming jobs I no longer have time to smoke pot. I save all my money, hardly spending any on the useless stuff I used to. I no longer give quarters to the homeless, and constantly complain about the price of gas....

OMG, I think I might be becoming conservative....

What can I do about this???
Please Help

I have seen so called "knuckle buckles" for sale on the internet. These are basically brass knuckles, but with a tab that makes them able to be called belt buckles. The site I have seen with these specifies some places they will not sent them too. Does this imply they are legal someplaces?

I live in the State of Illinois.

In fact, the Constitution is far more than 'outmoded,' according to President Bush who rebuffed GOP leader's request to soft pedal some parts of the 'Patriot Act' by saying: "I don't give a goddamn . . . I'm the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way." Then, responding to an aide who stated: "There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution." Bush screamed back: "Stop throwing the Constitution in my face . . . It's just a goddamned piece of paper!"(

My father passed away suddenly. He and my Mom live in another state. I have a brother who is two hours from them. As soon as Dad passed, my brother drove to their home and retrieved the will. I have never seen it.My mother, though not physically well and mentally diminished, was named executor of the will, per my brother. She made my brother her power of attorney. They made all the funeral arrangements for my Dad and my brother moved my Mom into a nursing home 20 minutes from his home. I have been left out of loop, not kept informed, not included to help with the funeral, etc. It's been very frustrating and upsetting. I asked to see the will and I was ignored. I made a second request and weeks later, my brother tells me my mother won't let me see the will. I am very perplexed over this situation. Am I entitled to see the will?? I've also emailed 3 attorney's in their state and not one has contact me to help.

The basic necessities of life are:

1. Air to breath

2. Clean water to drink and clean with

3. Simple food

4. Simple shelter (with minimum heating and lighting)

5. Basic clothing (to stay warm and decent)

6. Medical care

7. Civil order (some type of justice system)

These seven simple necessities are not more or less then a prisoner would receive in an American jail.

Should all citizens be granted these life minimums?

If society’s worst are granted these minimums, shouldn't the sick, feeble, children, unemployed, etc. receive the same?

I wish they would compromise and run together, I think that they would have better chances of defeating the Republicans, and Edwards, I don't want Edwards to win...
