I have been an on site manager in California and when I first started I signed a contract with the owners stating that I would only be given a 2 week notice should the owners choose to terminate employment.
Are you sure that you did not sign anything before you started?
You need to contact your local Fair Housing Board. Here where I am, we have the Inland Fair Housing and Mediation Board. They should be able to assist you in determining what legal rights you have.
From my understanding, even if you do not have a written lease, they would still be required to serve you with at least a 30 day written notice.
Why would the owners tell you that you could stay there when they needed it for a new manager? Any further communication you have with them you should try to have in writing so that you have documentation of everything.
What do you think they will do if you are not out in 30 days? Call the cops? Even the police would tell them that they need to file an unlawful detainer in court before they will get involved.
I wish you all the best, Good Luck, and please keep us posted on what happens!!

You can fight the eviction notice. That way you won't have to move without a court order which takes time. Laws vary by state and you didn't tell us yours. Since you know your husband is a druggie and a thief why did you put yourself in the position where he could do this? They were right to fire you. If you want to let your husband destroy your life that is your right, but stop allowing him to destroy other people.

Florida is a right to work state, so unless you had a specific contract of employment, your employer can fire you whenever he/she chooses for any reason or no reason. Since your "home" is a benefit of employment, it is likely legal for you to be forced to move with two weeks notice. You would have to check with the specific case law in Florida to see how other similar cases were handled.

They don't want you there and yes they can evict you. They have asked you to leave so the eviction process has begun. Not having a lease makes matters worse.
