Is G.W. Bush happy to see us, or is that just BIG OIL in his pocket?
I know, I’ve asked this before but - got “Dick” for an answer.

I think he should go to jail for contempt of Court. I also believe he should be investigated as thoroughly as possible to find out what The Hilton Family did to get Paris out of jail. This has a very rotten smell to it. And if it turns out they bought him off then they deserve jail time also.

That the Texas-Mexico boundary is marked by the Rio Grande River? Obviously the wall cannot be built on the Mexican side of the river. So how would the environmental, recreational, and water usage rights impact the area? I've gone tubing down this river. Wouldn't a wall effectively just give the river to Mexico? (The US and Mexico share the waters of this river under a series of agreements administered by the joint US-Mexico Boundary and Water Commission.)

USA Today: Did Sandy Berger 'Steal' Secret Docs? We're Debating That Still
You know, it seems pretty cut-and-dried to me. Stuffing secret documents down your pants and removing them from a secure room in a federal facility, that constitutes stealing.
USA Today's "On Deadline" blog isn't sure, though. (bold/italics are USA Today's):
Sandy Berger, the national security adviser under former President Clinton, was disbarred yesterday in the District of Columbia.
The Washington Post says Berger agreed last month to give up his law license in order to avoid a prolonged investigation that grew out of his conviction in 2005 of removing classified documents from the National Archives.

Essentially, it's the "Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure" question: how would they view America today?

What would they be most displeased with? What would they applaud?

Do you think that they would want to make any changes or alterations to the Bill of Rights or the U.S. Constitution, knowing now what America would be like two centuries later?

Remember the old foundation that America was built on using a seperation between the church and state? With abortion laws, death sentences, war, marijuana legalization, etc, most of these controversies seem to have the church at one side and peoples' own choices at another. Why can't we base these decisions on state and the choice's of the citizen rather than a religion?

I read in the news daily of new reasons to be ashamed of what has become of my country. In the last few weeks alone, information has come to light that our own government has:

1. been running secret torture facilities throughout Europe (specifically in Romania and Poland)

2. become so complacent that they are willing to grant full amnesty to millions of criminals (read: new immigration bill)

3. vowed to continue an illegal war in Iraq...even after the new powers in Congress swore they'd not allow this. Apparently, the Dems lie as often and as shamelessly as the Reps.

4. systemematically and often-times secretly been stripping away our civil rights in the name of our Fuhrer's (Read: Bush's) laughable grand scheme.

And while all this has been going on...the citizens of this country sit quietly by. This is exactly how the Nazi's were allowed to rule for so long: because the people refused to rise up and put a stop to it!

american blacks why do you support democrats,do you not know during the civil war republicans were fighting to end slavery, and democrats were fighting to continue slavery, during the civil rights struggles of the 60`s republicans were fighting to give american blacks the same rights as all americans, and that democrats were fighting to deny american blacks the same rights as all americans,i do understand how the democrat/liberal dominated public education system seeks to keep the truth of history from you,but why do black leaders such as jesse jackson,al sharpton, cynthia mckinney, the congressional black caucus not reveal the truth of slavery and the true slave masters, that they now serve,to keep american blacks in poverty, republicans are not perfect, but they have done more for american black freedoms than democrats.and continue to encoruage the success of the american black citizen, please do some history research and learn the truth, and any young democrat/liberals out there do the same.

I had a DUI and 2 tickets for driving on a suspended lisence while it was suspended for DUI and it was in LA County. I turned myself in and was released the same day both times. In LA County if the charge is a misdemeanor and less then 90 days they are usually just released the same day. I have never heard of anyone serving all of their sentence for a misdemeneor in LA. This is just an ongoing battle between the Judges and the Sherrif's. Its been going on for years and the judge is just using her as an example, yet they are not telling everyone what really happens to everyone else. Any other citizen would not spend 45 days in jail. She is being treated unfairly. Just wait until they begin to show statistic of the time people spend for similiar sentences.

Ok if the US is suppose to be the most succesful country blah blah, and most people here consider themselves educated blah blah, why are so many of you hatefull towards immigrants? Unless you are Native American, your family/ancestors came here as IMMIGRANTS, luckily they became legal and years passed, you were born here and NOW YOU HATE THE HISPANICS & OTHER RACES for coming in here trying to feed their family, Now, I don't agree with the ones that come here to commit crimes in a country that isnt theirs, that I DO not agree with, but the ones that do things right why do you bash them?? where is your education...most of your ancestors came here on a boat just like they are doing now...EDUCATE YOURSELF people...My family from PANAMA came here LEGALLY, with Visas on a freaking plane..now we are US LEGAL RESIDENTS...hold good jobs, have a great education...WHY ARE YOU GUYS SO ANGRY AT PEOPLE THAT ARE JUST LIKE YOU EXCEPT LESS FORTUNATE? Educate yourselves, ignorance is so unattractive!

a little late, Newt - hope the GOP listens to you.

He has roundly criticized the Bush administration in recent interviews, describing the White House as dysfunctional and saying the president has driven the party into collapse. While he refrained from direct criticism Friday, he cited failures in Iraq, border security and the response to Hurricane Katrina as signs of a broken government.

Congress does not pay into social security but they have authority to juggle the funds and pay people that have't put any funds into it. Congress's retirement is paid for by the taxpayers out of lthe general fund which is a catch all fund that they keep well supplied. Maybe if they had to pay SS they would take better care of out retirement fund. Also they should cut out all the extra bennies they get and not collect their retirement until the same age the rest of us do. Members of congress are just like the rest of us they put their pants on one leg at a time. This job is no more important than the job you hold.
