Their members are forced to toe the party line, dictacted by lobbyist, and their leadership and resources manipulate the public. I think a possible solution is to ignore party and vote independant. What do others think?

If any member of any party votes a straight ticket because of party affiliation, then they are an idiot. A political party is designed to place like minded individuals together, but that does not mean they have to agree on everything.

There is a better way to vote. Vote your ideals and what you want, not what some party wants. Soon there will be more help for candidate research, nevertheless it is good you vote now.

Sadly recant history proves that third parties have little or no chance to win. The best they can do is have their beliefs "borrowed" or "political planks" assigned to Dems or Republicans.
That way, their cause is advanced. Otherwise they may "Perot " all over the election with dire consequences.
Smiley but Tricky did the deeds that made the POTUS office have a bad name now Bush gets all the blame.
SBT had the pizza delivery, the coffees with the gun runners and drug smugglers et al...Bush gets flack over hanging out with Karl Rove or whoever that is.SBT fooled around at every turn, yet Bush gets threats of impeachment because even famous Democrats insisted Saddam killed on ten occasions and had WMDs under developmenty.

I don't. It's a way for like minded people to organize. There are downsides, but overall they are big pluses.
