Essentially, it's the "Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure" question: how would they view America today?

What would they be most displeased with? What would they applaud?

Do you think that they would want to make any changes or alterations to the Bill of Rights or the U.S. Constitution, knowing now what America would be like two centuries later?

I think they would be dismayed by how big the gov't has grown, and how much it does that they did not authorize in the Constitution.

On the other hand, I think they'd be delighted at how economically prosperous we've become under our system.

I think if the Founding Fathers could come forward in time and re-write the Constitution, they would revise it so the federal gov't could do no more than is specifically authorized in the Constitution, and also they would re-write some of the Bill of Rights in less flowerly language, but more concretely. For instance, I think they'd make the 2nd Amendment very plain and simple that a private citizen's right to keep and bear small arms shall not be restricted by the government.

I don't believe they would be pleased right now. They would also see a bright future. Liberals look for a bright future and these men were visionaries looking for a bright future. They would be displeased with the way the president has handled things. They wouldn't be thrilled with Congress either. They were smart men and would appreciate the advancements and development made on the nation they started and the Constitution that guides it. They would not like the fact that some today don't have much respect or regard for the Constitution.

They would be completely ashamed of the United States. Our country was founded on a principle that allowed its citizens to run the country through voting. Now we have a number of 35% of people actually voting and we wonder why the government is the way that it is.

People are no longer in power, because of laziness or lack of caring. The Bill of Rights is being stomped on and no one cares.

The founding fathers would be pissed if they saw where we were today.

I think they would be relieved or happy that slavery was abolished. I think they would find it remarkable that there is such incredible racism so many years after slavery though.

I think they would be happy to hear that we are the most powerful country on earth, but they would be disappointed at how HUGE the federal government is, and they would hate how little power each individual state has.

George Washington warned of three things in his farewell address.

1.Needless foreign involvements
2.Permanent foreign alliances
3.Political Parties

I'm thinking he wouldn't be too happy with the current state of the nation.

They would be displeased with the corruption in congress. They would be really upset about the moral decay of this country. They would not like abortion, gay marriage, the divorce rate, and the anti-war left.
