There is no place in the US where you can buy a handgun from a dealer or some unrelated private party while you are under 21 years of age. Contrary to some of the other answerers posted here, there are circumstances that will allow you to obtain ownership of, possess, and use a handgun. Basically that would involve your parent or guardian passing it on to you as a gift and supervising your use of it.

there's an incredible style of bewilderment in this count number. keep in mind this, federal regulation takes precedence over state regulation. State regulations do practice, except they're in conflict with federal regulation, wherein case federal regulation applies. decrease than federal regulation, you'll be over the age of 21 to purchase, or very own a handgun. At 18 you may purchase or very own any long gun (shotgun or rifle). wish this helps. shoot secure

Federal law says 21 for handgun purchases. This is true for all 50 states. If anyone sells you a handgun they can get a minimum of 5 years in the fed. pen, and you go to the pen also for possession of an illegal handgun.

No place in the US can legally sell 18 year olds handguns. Also, you are not legally allowed to own a handgun in any state.

It isn't a Kentucky law, its a federal mandate.

You are getting incomplete answers.

You can not legally buy a handgun anywhere in the US.

You most certainly can buy a shotgun or rifle in most places.

So what you need to do is buy an "assault" rifle with a very short, folding stock.

Of course, you could always get one on the street ILLEGALLY. (I don't recommend this - 10 year federal mandatory minimum sentence!!!)

Fed. Law requires that you can only carry a gun, or have a permit unless you are 21 years of age or higher. You can not carry a weapon legaly at your age...unless you go into the military and your a military cop or something like that, then you can carry a gun at your age.

Otherwise, NO you can't carry a weap. And don't rush into getting one, theres more responsibility in those things than you think.

I thing the 21 deal is a federal law. If my 18 yr. old kid could convince me he needed a pistol, I'd buy one for him to use. How come your dad won't?

check with the NRA, but I think that you'll probably have trouble buying a gun with an out of state license.
