From yahoo news regarding the immigration bill not passing:

The split in the Republican Party was more obvious. The issue pitted social conservatives, who insisted that illegal immigrants not be granted "amnesty" for entering the country unlawfully, against business groups hungry for willing workers in hotels, restaurants, construction sites and other comparatively low-wage, low-skilled workplaces.

Talk about hypocrisy!

Let us say two years.

No Food sent to places in famine

No money to countries for medicine, food, infrastructure nothing

No soldiers sent across the world in time of Natural Disasters, Tsunami hits you killing hundreds of thousands, sucks to be you clean it up yourself!

Another war starts in Europe, clean it up yourself, sucks to be you!

No UN dues,Un goes broke, sorry sucks to be you!

Not one thing to anyone unless we profit from it for two years,at the end of which we can negotiate as to whether we will offer any aid to anyone, and under what conditions.

Would you support that,I think it's a fine idea, really tired of a planet full of ungrateful leeches telling the US we don't do enough, when we give more than the rest of them combined.

It seems like voting one way or the other doesnt fix deep seated problems - for example the influence of corporations over goverment through lobbyists, the influence of ownership concentrated media. Its easy to speak out against this sort of thing - but what realistic things can citizens do to actually bring about change?

I bought new peas, shelled, to make a soup. When I put them into the water, worms started surfacing, a lot of worms. So, now I am wondering: whose peas are these, legally? Do they belong to worms, since they were in possession, and moved in first, or are they mine, since I paid for them?
If the first is true, why they were sold to me?
If second: why the tenants were not evicted?

For me it is. I will not support anyone in Congress, either house, who wants to give amnesty to law breakers, and especially 12 million law breakers. I want current laws enforced.
Although I cannot vote against all of these people, I will be voting against mine in the next re-election bid. I have a long memory and they were going to sell us out. These voted for it

Leaders agreed to earmark $60 billion to fight AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis, global diseases that have devastated African peoples and their economies.

Lets really think about this for a second. The republicans dont want this to pass saying boo hoo it doesnt do this and that in light of sight that they act like they want the best for our people.. truth is Republicans and i am a republican but ashamed today is that republicans dont want this to pass period and not because they are in the best interest of the people, but fact is they indeed want to keep and have more illigal immigrants. immigrants=cheaper labor=more dollars for greedy buisness=more created buisness=more job openings but for who??? not the citizen thats for sure. Democrats only want it passed because people a majority of people dont like the problem so there using it as a tool to uproot the republicans and again the scam is uncovered just another political BS move by both parties kind of shameful isnt it?

Or at least in California where I live where I believe it is close, but i'm not shure. Does anybody care to comment on their states state of medical care and health? What are some of the obstacles that are holding us back from taking care of our own people? Greedy doctors? Sleezy lawyers trying to sue healthcare workers and the industry? or have people in this country just given up on being healthy and not dying from heart disease?

Tons of brides without a dress. Is it an omen or what? The store went out of business? All the clients know, is that no one is to be found. Can they sue after paying 80% deposits? Or will bankruptcy prevail?

Thank god that amnesty bill was stopped. Here are some ideas I thought of for a new immigration bill.
1.If both of your parents are illegal immigrants & you are born in the U.S. you will be considered an illegal immigrant.
2.No family reunification
3.No citizenship for illegal aliens convicted of felons.
4.You must pay a $10,000 fine to become a citizen.
5.You must become fluent in both reading & writing English before gaining citizenship.
6.You will have to under go a physical & psychological testing to gain citizenship.
7.If they still want to become an American citizen & they did all of those things then they will be given citizenship.
8.If you don't pass all of the things I listed you will be deported & never be allowed to gain U.S. citizenship.
