Not if you are a student. If you are a cop or security guard or in some cases a teacher, then you can, but it is documented that you have this because it is indeed a weapon.

NOOOOOOOO....don't even think about it! If caught, your punishment will be SEVERE!
Nothing says you cannot carry a nice stickless rubber slingshot and a few smooth round river rocks...I fought off a gang once and escaped! Leader stopped my rock with his notebook, was so shocked, he stopped the chase!
