In my area, young drivers are driving at 70mph in a 40mph or 30mph zone and crashing. Then all of a sudden, speed bumps go up, road signs appear everywhere and the speed is restricted to 20mph. Why do the majority suffer low speed limits to kids who will continue to do 70mph. Rather than be 30 to 40mph over the speed limit, they're now 50mph over and we have reduced down?

If you want to vent about either or all parties, be my guest. Living in Connecticut and was a Democrat I am disappointed in all the rhetoric and no action going on. I switched to the Independent Party this week, because the state legislature did not pass any legislation that would benefit the population. At this point I am fed up. What about you? The best outrageous answer gets the 10 points.

My mother came to US on a visitor visa & stayed for 5 months. I plan on getting her back to the US after her 1 month stay in India. Is it going to be a problem during the immigration check when they find that the visa holder had just returned from US a month ago.

(like in the Patriot Act) or the guns we own?

Have you ever been seriously injured by a book? Which is the biggest public safety threat?

I'm not suggesting that we ban guns by any means, but it seems silly to monitor what we are reading. Especially when so many die from gun deaths.

"Section 215 of the USA PATRIOT Act allows the government to secretly request and obtain library records for large numbers of individuals without any reason to believe they are involved in illegal activity; and

WHEREAS, Section 505 of the USA PATRIOT Act permits the FBI to obtain electronic records from libraries with a National Security Letter without prior judicial oversight; and

WHEREAS, Such open-ended searches expose all library users to the search and seizure of their records and to the invasion of their privacy; and

WHEREAS, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Robert Mueller have told Congress that they are not interested in library records and, as recently as April 2005, that Section 215 has never been used to request library records; and

WHEREAS, A comprehensive study of the impact on the public of federal law-enforcement activities in America's libraries, "Impact and Analysis of Law Enforcement Activity in Academic and Public Libraries," found that federal law-enforcement officials have made numerous requests for reader records and other confidential library information

all I ever heard about vietnam vets was that they were the poor kids who were thrown into a war and now there all messed up on drugs and suicide. ALmost every myth about vietnam vets is a lie, on average men who served in the war make more money than those who did not, they are less likely to be in prison than those who did not, and my favorite truth about vietnam vets is they are less likely to be homeless than draft dodgers. Just because a homeless guy says he was in the war doesn't mean he was. What do you think?

I mean for real! Who entitled the losers to stand up and try to take over everything? What flew up their noses? Ever notice how before Sept. 11th not to many people had real nice cars, now it seams everyone has a nice car, and the credit system is more important than cash? A poor man who has good credit can have more than someone with a large cash income. I call it American communism, fascism, socialism, whatever it means everyone is entitled to equal wealth, while the top wealthy people live rediculously lavish. This is crap, and in no way does this reflect pure American capitalism where there was a great number of the haves and have nots. Who like the America in the 90's better?

We just had the media frenzy over TB, Bush just told us recently OBL was planning another attack on US soil and that crazy Repub said the US needed another 9/11 type attack to make people appreciate the presidents efforts in the war on terror. What do you think of this idea?

WASHINGTON -- The Bush administration may suspend a major post-9/11 security initiative to cope with increasingly angry complaints from Americans whose summer vacations are threatened by new passport rules.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/06/07/AR2007060701596.html

Why would they even begin to think the paperwork they suggest could not be forged. I cannot believe that the government would be worried about our security only if it did not inconveinence travelers and tourists. Travel in and out of the US had drastically changed since 9/11. People know what a hassle travel is now and are more prepared for it.
Why let our guard down when Bush says OBL is going to attack?

My sister is in the service and has to send her (overseas) daughter home(unexpectedly) to Michigan. I talked to HR at my job and they say I wouldn't qualify to take anytime beyond vacation..because I would not fall under the FMLA(Family Medical Leave Act). I have read the act and I don't appear to qualify but I thought that there was some type of relief to service members who have to place there child with a relative in time of war or whatever. She is not going to war but she would like to leave her job at her appointed time (and be stationed in the states) instead of staying an extra year with her daughter. Am I eligible under FMLA since I am taking legal guardianship. Any help or direction would be appreciated :)

I find that attorneys are scum who will help others sue someone whether it is warranted or not or pursue a guilty plea even if they have doubt as long as they think they have a chance to win and make a buck. Isn't this really the equivalent of someone who would steal if they don't think they will get caught???Have you seen the pathetic personal injury attorneys just fishing for "customers". It is disgusting. Due to our litigous society, doctors are being forced from medicine due to skyrocketing insurance premiums. Doesn't anyone ever take responsibility for themselves anymore...why is everything someone elses fault. Example, a woman spills coffee on herself at a drive through and sues McDonalds
These are people that have basically given their souls to the devil yet they seem to feel as if they are in an esteemed profession...why is that?
