We just had the media frenzy over TB, Bush just told us recently OBL was planning another attack on US soil and that crazy Repub said the US needed another 9/11 type attack to make people appreciate the presidents efforts in the war on terror. What do you think of this idea?

WASHINGTON -- The Bush administration may suspend a major post-9/11 security initiative to cope with increasingly angry complaints from Americans whose summer vacations are threatened by new passport rules.

Why would they even begin to think the paperwork they suggest could not be forged. I cannot believe that the government would be worried about our security only if it did not inconveinence travelers and tourists. Travel in and out of the US had drastically changed since 9/11. People know what a hassle travel is now and are more prepared for it.
Why let our guard down when Bush says OBL is going to attack?

I would not doubt that Bush wishes that another terrorist attack would take place. It could be the only thing that can
save the Republican party. I am sure even though he claims
all of the time that he does not care how history remembers him with his meglomania I am sure that it is eating away at him. History is written by the victors. If he succeeds in killing the Republican party the victors will not be to kind I am afraid.

On the other hand I am surprised that Al-Quida does not attack somewhere in the US even if it is small. OBL has said on that the Iraq war was the greates gift Bush could give his recruiters. So if they even make a small bang bang then the Republicans will go on a tear and we may never leave Iraq.
Although this is already the Republican plan. Kiraq.

As far as the passports. I think the reality is that George actually makes very few decisions in the Executive branch.

Bush needs everyone in the States on side. He wants his legacy to continue with whoever takes over from him in a year or so. So I would think another staged terrorist attack to make the natives believe that the threat has not gone away would be good for his plan. I think Bush believes that a lot of America thinks that there is actually no terrorism to fight in the US and he will be thinking "how dare they we'll show them that it's real. If it's not good enough to put it out in the media that we are stopping terrorist attack's such as JFK airport and fort Dix then maybe we will just have to make another attack happen to make them understand that I am right".

Money talks. All that stuff at the airport was a big show to make people think that they're doing something about terrorism. Notice that 1st class travelers have their own line. They haven't done anything to secure our ports and thousands of tons of cargo comes into the United States unchecked daily.

I'm confused here. Why do we care about passports when any Tomas, Ricardo, or Jose can just walk across unimpeded, and not even be sent back if caught?

Why does the government want ME to have a new passport, when they don't give a rip about illegals anyway?

With such low ratings Bush s more concerned about -suddenly -his popularity (and getting his photo prices UP...) than the welfare of the nation.
IS ANYONE SURPRISED ???????

I know, right? It's almost like someone wants to make it easier for us to get attacked again. . . (Urk, now I sound like a bad conspiracy theorist)
