it is my opinion that our founding fathers and framers of our constitution intended this clause to enable roads to be built and public concerns. i was appalled when the courts read into this clause that it was alright to steal ones property in order for a private firm to build a mall or buisness on. their justification was wrong it being that the ones that can make more money in tax revenue have rights over individuals who do not pay the high taxes that a corporation would. something smells about this ruling and i hope that the states adopt legislation that will make this illegal in all 50 states. this clause should only be used as the founding fathers meant it to mean without exception

Eminent domain must only be exercised when there is no other choice but to expropriate the specific private property, when the taking is legal and just compensation is paid.

I don't like it, but I did understand why they did it for building roads and such. I disagreee with the revamping of the law where now the government can take your property for economic interests...basically they can take your land, pay you bottom dollar for it, raze it and build a strip mall in order to help strengthen the economic conditions of an area. That is just wrong, wrong.

Bad.
It's much worse now.
The Democrats on the Supreme Court ruled that cities can take away homeowners land, so that businesses can build there.
Democrats Hate Freedom for us working people.
Take away our paychecks in taxes, and take away our homes for their buddies.
A Sad Day.
