Ever since my parents can remember, i've been wanting to be a cop or wanting to go into law enforcement. Watching Cops with my dad at the age of 6 , all my toy cars were police vehicles, and i dreamed of being a police officer, fbi agent, or something related with law enforcement.

Now im at the age of 15, going to be a sophmore at high school, and its almost time to decide my career path. My family is middle-high class and im a teenage boy.

Now my dad has left overseas as he owns a company and had to move with them. I am left with my uncle and mother.
They tell me soooo much that i am not allowed to go into law enforcement, that i will get killed, that im an only child. The main reason is the pay. My family is sort of wealthy and they say you can barely make ends meet being a cop. Im not neccesarily looking to be a cop, maybe being a cop while i do my bachelors then apply for being a fbi agent..

how do i approach my family?

To me it is one of those issues where you can not paint one side liberal or conservative. Mainly because many religious conservatives people do not support the death penalty either.

Liberals constantly talk about how evil and greedy people that have a lot of money are, so is it better to not be wealthy in the eyes of libs? To a liberal, is a person a better American if they don't work hard, get on welfare, and have 7 kids with 5 different people before they are 19? I'm curious because libs never complain about those people, but constantly complain about people that do the right thing, like stay out of jail, take care of their children financially, get a job, go to college, start their own business, work hard to buy a home and support their families. Apparently, these people represent everything that is wrong and evil in American society because they own a home and possibly *gasp* an suv. They are independent (selfish in liberal jargon) and work hard to provide for themselves without relying on the gov't. Apparently libs think we need more Americans that pace around the mailbox the first of the month nervously waiting for their welfare check to arrive.

To me these clowns are in the public eye measuring the current level of public gullibility! Hence if you believe the crap coming out of their mouths then you will go along with what ever they tell in the future.

I have seen many liberals on Yahoo answers say that they are for higher taxes, universal healthcare, etc.... Without raising taxes, these programs are just dreams.

How many of you liberals are aware that your taxes are scheduled to go up by 156% in 2011? Can you afford this on your current salary / hourly wage? How much are you willing to pay in sales taxes, income taxes, etc. before it becomes a problem for you and your family?

The US Treasury has estimated that in 2011, a person making:

$50,000 annual income today ($55,100 in 2011) would see a $2,145 INCREASE (from $1,383 to $3,527) or 155 percent higher tax bill. .

• $60,000 annual income today ($66,200 in 2011) would see a $1,863 INCREASE (from $3,030 to $4,893) or 61 percent high tax bill.

Can you afford this?

Please don't give me any FAIR tax or revised budget numbers. Just answer this question. Your silence says a lot to me.

I just read a story that shows how far a liberal judge will go. The people of FARMERS BRANCH, Texas passed a ordnace that said that people who rent out proprety must make sure you are a legal resident of this country. The Hispanic s & the ACLU brought a law suit claming discremanation. The judge granted a injunction. The Aclu said it would cause a hardship to families of legals who have ILLEGALS living with them/HUH?? So it is ok for someone breaking the law not to be deported because it would be a hardship on those who know they are breaking the law. I guess I will rob a bank & move in with my brother because he w9ill not be introuble because allthiugh he did nit do the robbery he knew I did but did nothing about it. does that make any since??. Isnt that what the court & the ACLU saying about Illegals renting in FARMERS BRANCH Texas??

Hilary said at the debate Sunday she was against English being the official language because we would not be able to print ballots in other languages. She acts like this a bad thing. Not one penny of taxpayer money should be spent on printing any official documents in anything other than English.

How did the political climate degenerate so much to the point that there are only two sides that do nothing but bad-mouth and degrade each other? I feel like its middle school kickball over again... "Bam! I got you"... "Oh yeah, well BAM I got you harder!" Generally being reasonable people (I hope) why can't we disagree but concede that the other party is entitled to their point of view? Or better yet, allow that different life experiences breed different outlooks and perceptions on the same reality, and so not be SO pissed off when other people don't regurgitate the same rehearsed propaganda as us?? Am I being naive by believing it wasn't always this bad? In short, to bring it full circle... Why will half of the answers given to this question inevitably be flames?

Who would you rather have in America?
A) An illegal alien who works
B) A ghetto gang member drug dealer who is an american citizen

I say we give all the B's to mexico and take as many A's as we can get. Mexico seems to like drug dealers, so send ours down there! America seems to like workers, so lets take some! But we can only take the A's if we can give away the B's.

I've always known these Dems would do anything and I mean anything to get a vote. But only stab the people that voted for them in the back. Beware of these imposters!

I want to use John Edwards as an example... He now claims to have be walking close with Jesus Christ... but yet a month ago he couldn't even name his personal moral leader! Evidence of this is all over YouTube.

I predict most Libs would start calling me names like bigot, homophobe, racist, christian, war monger, Bush supporter, Nazi, facist, ignorant and everything under the sun. May not be here but in your heart you have already called me all the above.

Yet support Hillary's expensive/ineffective universal health care plan? How are libs planning on paying for these social programs? By raising taxes on the rich, aka any family making over $30k per year? By pulling out of Iraq and Afghanistan and reducing the military budget by 70%? It seems to me that if a person was really interested in reducing the deficit they wouldn't support Hillary's health care plan or any of her other worthless social programs. The whole thing seems a little hypocritical of liberals. Almost.....almost as if they really could care less about the deficit as long as there is a liberal in the White House. But that would mean that libs' moral ideals are worthless and take a backseat to their hunger for power, but we know that isn't true. They are true patriots.

Maybe when they are around 17 or 18 make them do 4 or 5 weeks of boot camp training. Learn self defense tactics, weapons training and proper exercise. Keep the same active duty stuff but have something like the swiss have where all the men and women, if you want, who do not enlist for active duty or reserves, have certain military training. Obviously should be done in the summer so it is not to conflict with schooling. Also think of the money we can save getting Obese kids to get themselves into shape and learn the benefits of exercise.

A federal judge in Texas imposed a restraining order on an ordinace that was passed last month by the voter in Farmer Branch, TX. The law required landlords to have potential renters to provide documentation proving that the person doing the renting was a citizen or a legal alien of the U.S.

This ordinance was passed in an election. 37% of the population of Farmers Branch, TX is Hispanic. Do you think a federal judge has the right (I didn't say authority) to override an ordinance passed by the population of a city?

I understand you are an idiot so I'll use little words. 1st, the highways are NOT a NASCAR track, you may want to risk your own life but who do you risk everyone elses life who go the speed limit, DON'T HONK or flash your lights because others obey the LAW. Listen carefully...when you are merging on to the highway it's NOT the people driving on the highway to get out of your way..YOU have to wait and get into traffic...it's not a race. Don't blame others who obey the legal speed limits. Today I buried a friend because of a rude truck driver who plowed into the rear of his car, 4 eye witnesses seen the trucker TAILGATING him for 5 miles because my friend DARED to drive 65 in a 65, the trucker was charged...I can't wait to be there at the trial...of course with his family, wife and 3 small children who NO LONGER HAVE THEIR FATHER
because of a JERK.
